Pretty in Pink

I don't think my dogs like me today, I have walked them four times as the weather was pleasant, at least no rain.  Not too long a walk but enough for them to rebel but having a sit down strike.  Boy do they have minds of their own.

I have spent time today crafting and have nearly completed another Christmas card.  I find it takes my a long time to decide on card, dies and layout. Once I have completed a card it does not take long to make others.  It's the initial layout that I find takes most time.  I will lay my ideas down them change my mind and rearrange yet again.  Once the card is complete I leave it and look the next day and most times I am satisfied with the result.  Well when it is glued down there is not a lot you can do with it.  Although I have been known to completely rearrange a card by cutting it up and using it for another.

This is another card I made a while ago, I made one as a wedding card in white and thought it might look good in pink.

The ingredients for this recipe are:

Pink card from my stash
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Elite - Design A
Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles
Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs
Spellbinder Daisy Flower Topper
Sentiment and Pearls from my stash

What gives you the impression I like Spellbinder Dies?  I am venturing into other dies but Sue Wilson has a lot to answer for.

Again your comments will be gratefully received, good or bad.

Little Chrismas Pressies

Well my playing at being a designer with my Blog is over for a while. Hope you like the new look.  Hadn't a clue what I was doing, just pressed this and that and I am quite impressed with the result, will maybe tweek it later.

This card is my take on a card shown on Sue Wilson's Blog (www. particraft.blogspot.co.uk) or click on the Blogs I follow and you will get to her) and I just loved it, As I had the dies anyway away I went.  I have added a bit of bling and maybe the angle of the photograph could have been a bit better or maybe one of the pressies is slightly off but I just love it.  It takes ages to cut out all the squares and swirly bits but I believe it is worth it.

Well can't wait to hear from you ladies..

I used:
8 X 8 White Card
Black and White Foundtion Card from Creative Expressions for matting
Embossed the white card with Creative Expressions Tied Together Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Frosty Forms Shapeabilites
Sentiment a Christmas set from Lakeland
Gold gems from my collection

As I said not perfect but will try harder with the next one.  I just get carried away and want to try everything.  I have a few ideas for a kids version but will have to work on that.

Enjoy your special day

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last post (sounds a bit military doesn't it) . I perked up no end as I am never sure how my cards would be received.  A special thanks to Patricia as she has encouraged me all the way and if I had not received a wee push from her I don't thing I would ever has got on here.  I am enjoying seeing all the gorgeous cards and helpful hints so you  may have to put up with me for a while.

I am fed up getting wet every time I take the dogs out. I am sure we are developing webbed feet.  They hate it,  I don't mind the wind and cold but I do not like getting wet.  If you see me going out in the rain you would laugh.  I don my long raincoat , down to my ankles, my thick socks, wellies and if its cold a pair of gloves.  When my hood is up you would not recognise me but the only bit that gets wet is my face yugh.

The card for today is

Products used:

White card stock A4
Green plain and spotted card (double sided) was from Papermania (I bought it last Christmas and don't have the wrapping)
Spellbinder Labels 23 for sentiment which was printed from Docrafts Especially for You CD
Spellbinders Daisy Flower Topper
Creative Expressions Pearl Swirls
Black gems from my stash

This card is simple but effetive I think and if you are in a hurry takes no time to make.  I really with have to practise doing the pearl dots with Cosmic Shimmer Pearlecent PVA Glue, will save me a fortune in buying the gems.  I know practise makes perfect but I get so excited when I see something I want to try that I am jumping from project to project.

Well ladies as always I await your comments be they good or bad, I welcome any.

Flowers and bows

Well this dreadful weather is still with us, rain lashing down, lightning flashing and thunder rolling around. The rain and wind is really scary, what with flooding and fallen trees.

Well todays card was made some time ago and I did not notice when the photo was taken the the flower in the middle ot the bow had slipped.  I fixed it before it was given to a friend for her mother's birthday.

I have used
Creative Expressions Foundation Card in Cream, taupe and black
Kanban embossed in gold card
Kanban sentiment and flower on bow
The dies were designed by Sue Wilson for Spellbinders and are called Lattice Motifs and Lattice Accents
The black and white ribbon and gold ribbon were again Creative Expressions
Black pearls from Crystal Stickers
Peach Flowers from Bit Box. I tend to pick embelishments up as I wander round the shops.

I tend to look at cards posted by crafty friends on my IPad first thing in the morning but need to be on my computer to download the photographs of cards.  So now I have used my brainbox and will prepare my blog at night, sleep on it, and post in the morning,  that gives me time to make any alterations that I think are required.

Stay Safe

My lovely friends

Hi my crafty friends, what a busy day. As it was a sunny day decided to take the dogs down to the beach. My next door neighbour's nine year old boy, Christopher came too.  Christopher comes to my house every Sunday morning for breakfast and grades me on how dippy his eggs are, I was Ok today go 9 out of 10.  Well both he and the dogs enjoyed paddling, my two very rarely go I the water but today because Christopher was dipping his toes they decided it must be fun.  All three was soaking by the time we left. Then I really had to press on with some cards which hopefully I will complete tonight.  Instead of a card I have decided to post a photograph of my two lovely friends because they are so cute.

Well is cute the correct word? May be scary would be better in this photo.  Mei LI is the black one she is 3 years old. Shoalin is my boy, he is 6 years old.  Meil Li is the bully.

Hopefully my cards will be finished tonight and I will post something tomorrow.

Feel free to comment, love hearing from you all.

40th Birthday Card

Well today I was shopping for new vaccum cleaner as the one I had was really screaming and needed a new motor and a few other bits. It was years old so it was time I got a new one. Then hubby and I had lunch at Dobbies Garden Centre as I just had to look in at their craft area to see if they had any new crafty items.  I refrained today as "he who must be obeyed" was with me, it is better not to let him see how much I spend on crafty items;

This was a card I made for my niece's 40th birthday, she loves pink.

I used

8 x 8 card blank
Spellbinders :
Fleur De Lis Rectangles
Persian Motifs
Picot Edge Circles

Some peel offs, embelishments, pearls and gems from my ever growing "I need that" box.

She was delighted with it and I liked it as it was so simple to put together.  She lives in Spain and will be visiting as soon as her grandson is born, 10 days and counting, and has requested 20 Christmas cards to take back with her so I better get my finger out.

Feel free to comment as I love to hear what other crafter think of my cards.

WOW Second attempt - fingers crossed

Well that worked this time, will have to improve my photography skills though.  I made this card this morning for a lady who is sending it to Italy.  I have been asked by her to make two more cards for an 80th and 90th birthday so will have to get my finger out tomorrow.  I am going to use the new lattice die and add a few butterflies so will have to see how they turn out.

Feel free to comment as any advice or comments will be gratefully received.  Thanks Wilma.
