Bags for plaques

WOW I felt so surprised when so many of you lovely people decided to comment on my last couple of posts.  I am very grateful you took the time to make such lovely comments especially since I had been absent for a while. The birthday wishes were wonderful as well.

I felt the plaques I made need a bag so it was more of a surprise when the winners received them, so this is what I came up with.

The card is from my stash and the flowers are Spellbinders Asters.
Easy peasy to make the bags just two pieces for back and front whatever size you need.  A strip 3" wide scored 1/2" at each long side and folded (I needed two as the bags measure 12" x 8").  Then glue it round and cut a hole for hand grip. Said it was easy.

I had a lovely day yesterday. My sister came round with her grandchildren and great grandchild with a birthday cake with a candle for me to blow out and make a wish and we had fun scoffing cake and pop and playing games, my ideal birthday Day.

Well as Bugs Bunny says "That's all Folks", have a great day today, we have sunshine but cool.

Thanks for all your comments

Well it is nice to be back in the fold, I have missed posting and making cards.  Your comments have inspired me to get back on track and I have worked hard today to make something new and not a card.  Wendy http://spanishcrafter.blogspot.co.uk/ gave me an idea with her plaques for her slimming group. I attend a group as well and was telling Nicola our consultant about them when out of the blue she ask if I could do something for Wednesday, that is the night the Slimmer of the Month is announced (not me), and she wanted to present the winners with a little something.  She holds two groups on a Wednesday and Thursday so four plaques were required. Had a look on the Internet to see what was on offer to give me inspiration and this is what I came up with, with items I had to hand.

Card from Creative Expressions
Spellbinders Grand Labels One die
Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Lg die
Xcut die (can't find the name) for weight record
Creative Expression Twine
Had some blackboard coasters so used them
Chalk tied with twine and fixed with Scotch Fasteners
Butterflies are punched

I made them all the same as there was not much time to get things together to make the plaques.  It is amazing what you can find when you search around.  I don't know where the coasters came from but I had to purchase the chalk, every thing else was around the house.  After browsing the Internet I have picked up some ideas if anyone shows an interest in purchasing a plaque to record their weight loss so another project on hold to see if there is any comers. I enjoy projects but  now must get down to card making for a wee while.

The weather here today has been miserable, heavy rain all day but luckily it cleared away late afternoon when it was my turn to walk the dogs.  Hubby did the dishes and I walked the dog, I got the better deal I think.

It's my birthday (Oh no not 65) on Tuesday and hubby bought me a new PC running Windows 8, whole new ball game to me but I am trying, some say very trying. LOL. I am having difficulty downloading my photographs but will give anything a try to get what I need.  I will have to invite my niece along to give me some instructions, or even the boy next door who is constantly giving me hints on my IPad.  The youngsters are all up to date on this technology so some brains will be picked.

That's it for now, only I forgot to give an update on my mum, she is doing well spend the first week with us at the caravan and managed very well but the second week was great for me as my sister came and took my mum home with her and gave us a much needed break.

Take care.

Gift Bag

Hello, it feels like ages, and certainly has been, since I last posted.  Been on holiday and this weather has made me get outdoors and do more outside.  We had an enjoyable time in the caravan but with it being so hot we could not travel far in the car because the dogs panted and refused to walk until the cool of the evening or early morning.  Good job I am an early bird or they would not have been walked very far.  While on one caravan site we met a lovely couple with twin boys aged six, Robert and Duncan, and Hannah their five year old sister.  They were from Spean Bridge and were a delightful family. The children visited the dogs each day and when they came back from their outings their first port of call was to tell me all about their day and spoil the dogs.  I really enjoyed meeting them and was sad when they left.

But back to normality now and my friend loved the wedding day card and her granddaughters birthday card.  I was in such a rush to make the 18th birthday card for her that I forgot to photograph it.  Another friend ask me to make a big gift bag for her friend's birthday and this is what I came up with.  Had to really push myself to get back into crafting but this is what I came up with, so loved it. When I buy dies I usually play about with them using different papers and this is what I used to produce this bag

The bag measures 13" x 10" but cannot remember where I bought it Hobbycraft  I think.
the card was used from my stash when I tried the dies
Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One
Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Die
Spellbinders Banner (can't recall the proper name)
Peel off sentiment

So maybe this is the push I need to get started back into crafting.  I really need to build up my stock and start on Christmas cards which I really love making.  I have commented sporadically on your posts but will get back into my routine now the warm weather seems to have disappeared.

That's it ladies and gents for tonight may have more for tomorrow.  Can't wait for your honest and welcome comments .

Take care.

Bride and Groom

We are on holiday just now so won't be able to post anything for a couple of weeks.

My niece Megan graduated last Friday after 4 years of blood sweat and tears. She chose Forensic Biology as her subject, why I will never understand as she is a girly girl but she did us proud.  I was so proud as she walked across the stage to receive her diploma and the tears welled up in my eyes, wonderful moment.

My card today is a card requested by a neighbour for her sister who gets married in a couple of weeks.  I feel a white bow may need to be added.

Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles
Glitzy ribbon plaited
Flowers, leaves, pearls and sentiment from stash
Butterfly Marianne die

Well it is so wonderful to read all your comments, I feel I have so many friends out there.  It is a joy every morning to log on and see all the great creations being posted and when I can fit it in I try to comment but it is not always possible.

Sun shining but we may have a few showers, the forecast is looking great for next week, hope so.

Catch up with you soon.
