CAS Cards

Well I have tried something new for me, CAS cards.  Now when I first began blogging I have no idea what all the abbreviations stood for and had to ask, I still have to think and ask now and them even now.

I though why not try something simple and boy did it take an age before I came up with a card idea.  I think it is more difficult to do a little on a card rather than lots.  I feel more at ease die cutting and layering. but here is my effort. I made three just to be sure

This may be a good starter card for the first class if it comes off in the Autumn.  I must thank you all for the feedback to my request for some ideas if I do take it up, they have been most helpful.  I still have to get in touch with Mary who apparently lives near me to meet up for a coffee/tea soon to get some advice from her.  You will get an email soon Mary.

 

Stamping direct on to a card scares me, but I have to think it is only a piece of card and if you fluff it you can always make another.  I really must practise stamping, I take the lazy way out and use digi stamps where possible.  I have download a few now and must make a card with them.  Previously I have used the pre-coloured images because I am still trying out the colouring in, not confident with that either.  Note to self, you will not gt anywhere sitting looking at the images, get colouring them and use your stamps.

 

Our weather today has not warmed up yet, it is forecast for sunshine tomorrow, don't hold your breath, but hope it does we Scots need some sun.  I saw on a blog that someone had 24 degrees in a sheltered spot, 14 would do me.

 

I hope you all are enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend, for me being retired every weekend can be a Bank Holiday, footloose and fancy free, there are not weekends jut one long holiday.  I never thought I would enjoy being retired because I loved working but because I suffered Work Related Stress one and half years before I retired I was very glad when retirement came around. Now I don't have enough hours in the day for all I want to do.

 

I may be absent for a week or so, we are laying two bedroom floors with wood and generally doing the up so my computer may be out of action.  I will still have my IPad but prefer typing on a keyboard.  I laugh at the younger generation using their thumbs to type, I was taught the touch typing way and when I use my phone to text my speeds drop dramatically.  My niece can type a text message in a few seconds but I am way behind.  But put her at a keyboard and I beat her hands down.

 

Only leaves me to say enjoy your holiday weekend and crafting if you can fit it in.

One to brighten the day

Well who is a lucky girl then?  Before joining blogger I had no luck in winning anything but now it seems my name is popping up all over the place, yes I have won more Candy.  Kat at http://lilackat.blogspot.co.uk ran a blog candy and when I opened blogger yesterday morning there was my name.  Thank you Kat I look forward to receiving you candy.

My card today is one I made from die cuts in my box.  When I get a new die I love  to try it out and get carried away sometimes. Hence my bit box is overflowing, must get round to using more.  I think we crafters all have the same problem.

The Thursday afternoon "Good Companions Club" my mother attends have asked if I would like to start an afternoon session showing them how to make cards and other bits and pieces.  I don't know if I can do this, I don't know where to start.  If any of you lovely ladies have any ideas I would welcome the input,    I would like to do it as their ages range from 60 something to 90 something and recently they have purchased a few cards from me.  I have donated a few cards to the club for their funds, they were cards I made when I first began crafting and did not know what to do with them.  They have raised £15 to date and I have a few more to hand in.  I honestly did not think when I first started making cards that they would prove so popular and now, because of all the encouragement I have received since posting on my blog, I am beginning to believe in myself.

OK then enough of my rambling I am off to browse your posts and comment on your, I am sure, beautiful creations.

Thank you for answering my question and a baby card

Thank you all for answering my question on the disappearance of followers, it seems it is a "Blogger" issue as sometimes they are there and then they are not there.  Will just have to put up with it I expect.

I have been sitting at my desk trying to work up some enthusiasm in making a card.  I succeeded but now it's too dark to take a photo.  So this card, is one I made earlier, as the saying goes.  Again it is using the Kanban Kit I purchased.  Trying to age the Less is More feeling going but not succeeding.

Ingredients are from Kanban Kit on an A5 card, some Mirri Board, couple of pearls and a Spellbinders Die cut Mirri board for sentiment

 

Today is was housework, dreaded ironing, loads of washing which I was able to hang out and get dry and to test my embosser the other day I cut out loads of different coloured roses and sat this afternoon making some up.  The dogs decided on a long walk at lunch time which is unusual for them.  They have been put on light dog food, no treats, as the Vet advised me that they were "a bit podgy" yes like their mum a bit overweight.  It is doing them a power of good, they are walking better and running and chasing one another.  I know I spoilt them with food treats but now have seen the error of my ways.  Shaolin, the male dog, has a hip problem and is on steroids which does not help weight loss, but carrying extra weight is putting a strain on his hip so diet, diet, diet, is the order of the day.  I will have to join them as I have fallen by the wayside with my eating habits recently and will have to get walking more often.

 

Enough of my ramblings, suffice to say I have been browsing your blogs and what a wonderful talented lot you all are.  There are some amazing creations out there.  My nights are spent having a look see and commenting.

Question and Ruby Anniversary Card

Help, where am I going wrong.  I know you computer/blogger literate ladies will be able to help me, my followers keep disappearing. the space is there to show them but they are nowhere to be seen.  I have tried deleting and replacing, moving it around.  When I am in design mode I can see all my followers but after I save and go back to blog they have disappeared.  Any assistance would be gratefully received.

While in preview mode I have noticed two new followers but I cannot find out who they are, but thank you ladies from joining my humble blog.  Kath at Lilackat I have manged to add your Candy photo, that was easy for a numpty like me.

My card today is a 40th Wedding Anniversary card request by one of my Mum's friends. I asked her what she would like on it and her reply was "just one of them fancy cards you do".  She is 90 years old and wanders a bit so I hope she likes my "fancy card".

I bought a kit from Kanban and am slowly working through the pack, it's Love and Marriage, Birth and Celebrations and Well Wishes and Celebrations.  There is such a lot in the pack that I feel I will never be able to get through it all but if I get my finger out and try CAS and LIS cards I will get loads of cards made.  I just cannot get my head round using just a little on a card, as you may have already found out from my cards.  Erika  http://snappycrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ has it down to a fine art her cards are so elegant I must take a leaf out of her book, Oksana http://everydaycrafting.blogspot.co.uk/ , her cards are beautiful too.  In fact all the blogs I follow the cards are so varied and gorgeous that I am often in awe when I look through them.

Happy Crafter

Well here I am back with my review of the Ebosser.  I approached the machine a bit tentatively because prior to receiving it I read a lot of reviews, some good, some not so good.  Main concern was jamming it up by using the wrong stack.  I got it out of the box and looked, read the manual, not just once, but loads of times.  Set the instructions up in front of me and gave it a go.  I used the most difficult, for me at least, Spellbinder die, the Christmas tree. and it just sailed through.  Time for another go and another and another.  It was so easy to use and the embossing is so deep.  I tried a whole load of dies and embossing folders and every one went through perfectly. Guess what is my new best friend.  One thing as you stack it differently from the Grand Calibur you have to remember that and not cut the magnetic mat, or shim as it is called, as I did.  Oops that's what I get for being over confident.  I can thoroughly recommend the Ebosser.

My hubby took my poor Grand Calibur up to his shed to see if he could bring it back to life and lo and behold he did.  Now he is not the most DIY friendly person but I congratulate him for a job well done.  He asked me to point out that there is something inside that works loose and if you hear a loud clunk and rattle as I did them it means the bolts have worked loose.  An allen key is required after you have worked out how to take it apart. It is working but not perfectly, enough for little one off tasks, I feel.

I have been asked to do some baby girl cards on the same lines as my last lot of cards, oh I am getting so fed up of them, but it is what the customer wants.

 

The main ingredients are as before and I used a Kanban kit I bought recently.  Sorry the photo is not up to standard but the sun disappeared just before I took them but you can see the layout.

 

Tomorrow I really want to try something different I have made a few baskets but have still to finish decorating them. 

 

 

Now all that is left to do is to pick up all the bits from my die cutting tonight, some dies really leave a mess not matter how careful you are at aiming for the bin, and put everything back in it rightful place.  I had a bit of a tidy up the other day and cannot find a thing.  I still have to label the boxes so I have an idea where things are but sometime they are not where I think they should be.

 

Have a great weekend and make the most of the sun, although we still have it very cold. Nice in the sun out of the breeze but when there is not sun it is freezing.

No Card yet but watch this space

I am now a happy bunny, after sadly loosing my Grand Calibur to the resting place for worn out machines, I did work it very hard over the last few weeks, I have become the owner of an Ebosser. Trying to get one was a nightmare.  On 25th March I ordered one from Oyster Stamps http://oysterstamps.co.uk this was before my Grand Calibur died on me and was informed of a 2/3 week delivery.  I though OK I can wait, then as you all know my GC died, but I decided a few more days then I will get my Ebosser. Not to be, Oyster Stamps posted on their website there was a further delay.  As I have a few cards outstanding to make I needed a die cutting machine. I trawled the Internet and lo and behold Handy Hippo http://handyhippo.co.uk had four Ebossers in stock and next day delivery would only cost £4.95 and the machine was only a £10.00 more than Oyster stamps.  I noticed if I signed up for their newsletter there was a 10 % discount so all in all I was on a winning streak.

First of all I had to contact Oyster Stamps and explain my predicament and they were so helpful and cancelled my order with them.  They could have been horrid but no they were lovely.  I have bought from them on numerous occasions and they have been great.  Thank you Oyster Stamps and thank you Handy Hippo for great service. I had a look on Handy Hippo's website today and they were out of stock of Ebossers, lucky me.

I ordered the Ebosser at tennish yesterday and took delivery at tennish today. What service.  Guess what I have been doing all afternoon, yes, playing. What joy not having to crank the handle and the embossing is so deep.  I still love my GC and hope to get it resurrected in due course, now I have to stop playing and get down to hard work.

Well ladies thanks for putting up with my saga,  the story ends here, on a happy note of course.

Disaster! ! !

What to do, my Grand Calibur has packed in.  I was using it tonight and there was a loud  crack and a crunch and there it was no more.  I am waiting delivery of an Embosser which should be here by the end of the month but I am distraught.  Luckily I have completed all my commission cards and need to make one more but its not to be elaborate just a normal card.  What's that I hear, I don't do ordinary cards, yes I do when I can.

So now its off to bed with a tear in my eye wondering how I can survive without my beloved Grand Calibur.  Every card I make I use my machine and now I will have get back to basics.




No card tonight, I have not photographed the one I completed last night but will do that tomorrow.

latest batch

Hi my fellow bloggers, hope you are all well.  I am enjoying the change in the weather, it's getting warmer, whoopee.  Oh better not say too much it may return to Arctic conditions if I sound too happy.  It is not sun bathing weather but a lot more pleasurable walking the dogs.

I have been busy making more cards as you will see below but hope now that the run is over.  I did enjoy making the cards but want to try something different and not the same old style.  It seems everyone liked the style and today I made what I think is my last one for a while.  Have not been able to photograph it but tomorrow is another day.  The few I have posted tonight went out over the weekend and the ladies who ordered them were delighted.  I added a stick pin to each one and they loved that addition.

 

 

Ingredients are much the same as before Spellbinders dies, hexagonal cards and boxes from Stella Crafts, Marianne butterfly die, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts except the roses they were and made with Spellbinders Rose Creation die, the remainder of items from my stash.

 

 

I have enjoyed browsing through your blogs and as usual am amazed and the wonderful creations that can be found there.  There is so much I want to try but not enough days in the week to get to them all.  Have to be better organised.

More of the same

Good evening to you all.  I have not had a chance to post for ages as I have been making one card after another and all nearly the same style.  That was the reason for not posting on my blog as I did not think you would want to see the same card with some variations and different colours.  My mother attends a small Bingo Club on a Tuesday and someone had seen a Mother's day card I made and wanted one, well it snowballed and I had orders, some in blue, lilac and yellow.  Then word got round to her Good Companions Club (a wee social club for over 65's) and more orders followed.  I have tried to vary them as much as possible but there is only so far you can go.  I have another one to make for a 60th birthday this week and have been asked for more.

I really want to make something different now but feel I must complete my orders before I attempt anything different.

I have been able to browse through your blogs and have been amazed at the talent out there.  There is so much I want to try and some day I will get round to doing it all.

Well time for bed I think, I have been cutting out the elements for my next card and feel my right arm is ready to fall off but I have a solution.  My hubby has taken pity on me and is sharing the cost of an Ebosser machine which I believe will make life easier in a way.  I have ordered it from Oyster Stamps as they were the cheapest but there is a 2-3 week delivery but I can wait.

Pornography or what??????

Great title tonight, got you all thinking.  When I was browsing through some blogs the other day a card by Wendy at http://confessionsofapapersniffer.blogspot.com/  caught my eye and as the image was a free download from Just Some Lines http://justsomelinesblog.blogspot.com/ I thought I would give it a try. You should have a peek there are some gorgeous cards there.  After downloading the image I coloured it with Promarkers but then thought I have some yellow roses made maybe they would fit on top of the image,  Wallah they did.  I used some Papermania Capsule collection papers and Spellbinder Grand Decorative Circle Dies, a Marianne Butterfly die, a Spellbinder Labels Twenty Three second smallest Die and of course Rose creations and foliage dies.  When I showed it to my hubby he said has it got an X certificate.  At first I was puzzled but on closer inspection thought the fairy's butt was a bit too obvious so I decoupaged that part and toned down her butt.  I love it and eagerly await your views.  Another thing,  I will have to hide the Circle Dies as I am using it far too much. Everyone wants a card with them and my "creative juices" are fading fast, who am I kidding,

My Italian friend wanted an engagement card and I made two from a kit recently purchased from Kanban before the went bust and guess what, yes I forgot to photograph them. I was in too much of a hurry to get them to her that it slipped my mind.  I have not made many cards recently other than the Mother's Day cards and really could have done with them to post to show I can do other cards.

What is this weather all about, it is freezing out there and although the snow is slowly disappearing we still have a winter landscape.  Luckily my hubby took the dogs for a walk this morning and afternoon as he said it was too cold for me, don't know what got into him but I really appreciate his kind gesture.  I have them out again at 2100 then bedtime.

Hope you all are well and getting loads of crafting in,  I have been lazy snuggled up with my IPad playing games and browsing.  When I look through your wonderful posts I find other links and before I know where I am a few hours have passed but it is amazing what you find.  Like the image for my card today and it is FREE.

2nd Teenager Girl Card

The weather forecast got it correct for the East of Scotland and I wish they had been wrong.  It has snowed nearly all day to day and is forecast for the same tomorrow. It is not lying deep on the roads or pavements but it is rather annoying.  I prefer the drier snow which lies but this wet snow is more like rain and if it ices over tonight the paths will be treacherous in the morning.  Oh doom and gloom, where is spring?

It is lovely browsing through all your blog posts and seeing and reading what you have all been up to.  I tend to lead a very uneventful life there days, my fault I suppose I like the quiet life these days.  I did shiftwork for most of my working days and spent a lot of time on my own and got used to it.  My husband was at sea and was only home for a couple of months and then away for 6 months, sometimes even as long as 11 months. We got used to the separation and now we are both retired it can be challenging.  I have my crafting to keep me occupied and my dogs, and he has his garden but at this time of year and weather conditions there is not a lot to do and he gets bored.  We love to get the caravan out and tour around, mainly up north. My hubby has family down in Billingham (Teeside region) so we sometimes stay at Stockton on Tees at a caravan park there and visit. Roll on the good weather.

This card is a bit different from my first one but I thought as teenagers are into computers this was an apt image and they like their funky colours.

Because it is getting lighter earlier in the mornings I am wide eyed and bushy tailed very early, this morning it was 0510 and I just cannot go back to sleep once I am wakened.  The dogs look at me when I call "walkies" around 0615 they turn over and try to ignore me but I am very persistent and get my way.

Teenage Girl Card

What is all this weather about, we have had a great couple of weeks making it ideal for walking. Then we get hit with snow again, freezing cold and wind chill, brrrrrrrrr.  How I long for Spring to arrive and stay for a while.  I am a hothouse plant I need the sun, I hate winter.

Enough about the weather.  I have not really done much since last week but have been asked to make a card for a teenage girl.  Not knowing the person the card is meant for I have made two, well you know me, one is never enough.  I made one for a sedate, lady like girl and one for someone who likes fun.  They are for an Italian lady in our village who is my best customer to give to the teenager and I really like to make cards I think she would like.  The only problem is once I give her a choice she ends ups buying them all which is not what I intended.  Here is my first card I will post the other one later.

 

The base is a 8 X 8 card, the papers are from my stash, I seem to have collected quite a collection and I have not kept many wrappers.  The image (her name is Amelia) was one my friend passed to me so I have no idea who it is by.  I used Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, varying sizes for the topper and backing and for floral corsage.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from Kanban.  The butterfly is from my stash as is the corners.  The topper was already coloured so I cannot take the praise for that.  This is the sedate one.

 

On 23rd March I, along with Patricia http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ and her sister Hazel are having a day out to Inverness to meet up with Kate http://cuilliesocks.blogspot.co.uk/.  We are travelling by Megabus and it is only costing us 50p as we all have the oldies bus pass, a real bargain.  It will be a real pleasure to meet up with Kate and put a face to her blog.  I have previously met up with Patricia and Hazel, two very wonderful people who make jewellery to sell in aid of a couple of charities they support.  I bet we will have a great time chatting and catching up, I am really looking forward to that.

 

I spent last Saturday at the SECC in Glasgow and bought all the items from my list and a few extras.  Now I am not usually tidy but after arriving home I put everything away and forgot to take a picture of my purchases.  It was really just the run of the mill stuff, glue pens, beads (I am in to making stick pins for my cards), some crochet flowers, A3 card, cosmic shimmer glue (can't live without that) LOTV stamp (the cupcake stand one), I forget what else.  Alisha, who was with me, bought a few beads to make herself a bracelet.  I bought her a Nail Art kit and she was so delighted with that.  As a treat for her Mum on Mother's Day, she painted her nails and what a great job she did.

Mother's Day rush is over

Oh boy what a busy time I have had making Mother's Day cards.  It is great that people like them but they all want similar but different and I have been racking my brains this past week for ideas.  Well finally completed my last one and glad it is all over.  Here are some of the last ones

I loved making these cards but it really tested my creative skills trying to make each one different and matching coloured card but I think I succeeded.  I just adore making the stick pins, an idea from Christina at http://flowersribbonsandpearls.blogspot.co.uk/,  a visit to her blog and Card Making Magic site was a great source of new ideas for me.

 

I have not been able to comment on many blogs lately.  The weather we had was really good and I spend a lot of afternoons walking the dogs while it was quite mild.  We all needed the exercise after being couped up over the last couple of months.  We even made it down the beach a couple of times which the dogs love.  They enjoy the sand but luckily they only get their toes wet as they are not too keen on the water, boy am I glad of that.

 

I am off to the SECC at Glasgow tomorrow to a Hobbycrafts show and have a few pennies saved and a list of items I really need. I am taking my friends daughter Alisha who is 10 with me.  She missed out in October as she had tonsillitis and could not go but I received a message saying it is all go for tomorrow.  We will have fun browsing and buying, a real good day out for us.

Mother's Day Card

It is so nice being able to post  a card so quickly.  I had to have a rest from the commission card as it gets a bit repetitive doing the same two cards all the time.  So here is a Mother's day card I played around with yesterday and today.  I bought the lemon card yesterday while I was at my local craft shop just because I loved the colour, luckily in my stash I have a few bits which made a card.  I love the boxes from Stella Crafts they are so easy to assembly and not expensive and saves a lot of heartache sizing, scoring, cutting and gluing.

I don't know why but I really enjoyed making this card, maybe it was the colour which brightens up the day.  Lemon/yellow always makes me feel lighter. 

 

I took the dogs for a haircut today and they look adorable once more.  I knew when I bought them that if I intended to keep their coats short it would cost me but I much prefer grooming them when their coats are short.  They are right rummagers always in scrub and if their coats were long I would have a job trying to get all the bits and matts out.  I love to see them running around off the lead than being constantly on the lead, they do come back to me when I call them, well nearly always.  Shaolin tries to prove he is top dog sometimes but he knows who is boss.  Mei Li often follows suit but she is just a sweetie and will do anything for a titbit.  I often feel like going on a dog grooming course because it would be cheaper than paying someone to do it but its not just the cost of the course but all the equipment you need as well.  At the moment I will pay Pamela to groom them.

 

I contacted Charlotte at http://www.thepapeterie.com/to enquire if I had to book a place to see Sue Wilson who is demonstrating on the 6th July and she replied that it was an open day and just to turn up.  Great news I have always wanted to meet Sue so will take advantage of her visiting Aberdeen, Scotland.

Not a card toay

Just to let you all know I am in the land of the living.  I have not posted for a week and am feeling left out after browsing your blogs.  What a wonderful array of cards produced by you lovely ladies.

I have been busy reproducing some of the last cards I posted as word got round and now everyone wants a card like this, especially for Mothers Day so I have been kept at it.  I don't mind as I love making them and making the roses.  The reaction I have had to these cards has been great so will have to get my thinking cap on to come up with something else.

To keep my blog going I though you might like to see something I make last year while on holiday with the caravan in Grantown on Spey.  I decided I would not take any crafty things with me and one day I went for a wander round the town and found a lovely craft shop, well what else would I be looking for, and the lady in there was delightful.  I could not justify buying any more craft tools so had a look at other things.  I saw a crochet kit on sale and I thought although I had not crocheted for a long time I would give it a go.  The material is a type of jersey and the crochet hook is ginormous. is call Zpagetti and the kit include the handles for the bag.  Well I finished it so quickly after a few false starts and when I came home my mother claimed ownership of it.  Here is a photo of the finished bag

 

I added a felt flower cut with Spellbinders die, and my mum uses the bag all the time.  I lined it with an old pillowslip cut to size and sewn in.

 

Well ladies that's it for now until I finish my latest batch of cards and find something else to try.

 

Did you see the news (Scottish Ladies) that Sue Wilson is visiting THE PAPETERIE in Aberdeen in July,  I for one will be there as she is going to demo 20 cards then auction them off for a charity supported by the Mill.

Last in the Series

Here we go again, this is the last card, for the moment, I have had to make using the same design.  I just love making this style of card and I said the last one was my favourite but maybe this one is.  I now await your comments.  Will have to get the brain box working again to see what I can come up with tonight.  I was out shopping today and went into Reject our local haberdashery/craft/multitude of items store and bought some ready made flowers which will go with the ones I ordered from Wild Orchid but what to do with them. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm will have a play.

Continuing the Theme

What a day, it snowed from 0600 this morning till around 1500 this afternoon them it turned to rain.  I took the dogs out for their last walk and it is fair but water lying all over the place with the melting snow. Glad we are not on a flood plane as the water has nowhere to go.  At least the forecast for the next few days is promising, just have to wait and see.  The dogs this morning love running in the new snow.  If they find a patch which has not been walked on they have to make their mark and run all over it, noses down like shovels.  I have the task of drying them when we get home but it is great to see them enjoying it.

This is the second in my series of cards and I just love this one.  My sister wanted a card for one of her work mates who is retiring this week and wanted something different from the normal run of the mill cards so this is what I came up with.  I had to take the photographs out in the conservatory to get some light to avoid reflection and these are the best of the bunch sorry about the background I forgot to put something behind them to make the photo stand out.

I really must take a course in photography in order to do my cards justice.  I am so eager to get them snapped that it is not until I download them to my Blog that I see where I have gone wrong especially the backgrounds.  Hope you like my effort tonight, one more to go and then I will have to try something different.

A card for Mary

My goodness has it been over a week since my last post, does not seem that long.  I have been running around doing this and that and getting nowhere fast.  When I worked full time I felt more in control, I was able to run a house, do the garden, have some me time etc but now I have retired I just do not know where the time goes.  It's not anything specific but I do have to spend more time caring for my mother who lives with me and is increasingly relying on me to help with her personal care, run her to appointments, social clubs, bingo, she is out more than me. 

Anyway my mother asked me to make a card for her friend, Mary, who is ninety one and is moving into sheltered accommodation 10 miles away to be nearer her daughter.  My mother and Mary attend a "Good Companions Club" on a Thursday afternoon and my mother though a card signed by them all  to wish her well in her new home would be a good idea.  I wanted to make a keepsake card so here is what I produced.

I left the card without a sentiment because I felt it would spoil the card but placed it on the box. The ladies at the "club" were very pleased with the card and I have received a few orders for some more.  Looks like I am going to be busy.   I just love making the roses now that I have had the full tutorial from Patricia http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ but I must admit I have bought a few flowers today after seeing Christina's post http://flowersribbonsandpearls.blogspot.co.uk/ yesterday with a tutorial on making corsages and she had a link to Wild Orchid so I ordered a few different flowers to try the corsage.  Another project on my list is to try making hat pins.  I am going to the craft show at SECC Glasgow in March so will have a look for pins and beads there, will have to try and finish all my cards before I try a new project.

 

When I browse through all your posts I often see lots of projects I would love to try, but I tend to vary anything I try and add my "bit" to it. 

 

Flora http://crafty-lark.blogspot.co.uk/, Patricia (see above) and Hazel were concerned that I had not posted anything on here for a while and I was touched by their messages.  It is wonderful to feel that you have friends around who take an interest in you and are very caring.  Thank you ladies.

 

Well you may get sick of this style of card soon, as I said I have a few to complete, but they will all be different but on the same lines.  Did that sound right, no, but you know what I mean.

Set the record right

Hi there, have to set the record straight, the image on my last card was pre coloured, I only used my Promarkers on the sentiment. It seem some of you lovely ladies  have the idea that brave though I am I could never have produced such a beautiful image.

What's with all these baby cards?

While browsing your wonderful posts today, one really caught my eye, it was an easel card by Christina at http://flowersribbonsandpearls.blogspot.co.uk/  she said that her image came from another site which I had to have a look at.  Her post today showed a card from Paper Creator http://www.papercreator.co.uk/ and after I had a look I downloaded a few digi kits from them.  My card is made from one of them.

I fell in love with the duckling image and just had to make a card with it. I am hoping to get back on track soon as I can because I am sadly lacking in the crafting scene recently.  I have plenty time to craft but the motivation seem to have gone.  Maybe having some images I like will get me going again.

 

We had a lovely day here today, bit cold but sun shining.  So at lunchtime I took the dogs for a long walk and when we arrived at the field and I let them of the lead it was like being released from prison.  Off they went rolling in the grass and chasing one another and just generally having a great time.  It was nice to see them playing as they have spent a lot of time on the lead, mainly for my benefit as I hate slippy conditions and did not want to have to chase them to get leads on.  We were all pretty puffed when we arrived home so while they lazed around I had a coffee and a browse and that was when I noticed Christina's post and that led to Paper Creators site where I downloaded my goodies.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I don't expect we will be walking far but it the forecast is wrong we may do the same as today.
