The weather forecast got it correct for the East of Scotland and I wish they had been wrong. It has snowed nearly all day to day and is forecast for the same tomorrow. It is not lying deep on the roads or pavements but it is rather annoying. I prefer the drier snow which lies but this wet snow is more like rain and if it ices over tonight the paths will be treacherous in the morning. Oh doom and gloom, where is spring?
It is lovely browsing through all your blog posts and seeing and reading what you have all been up to. I tend to lead a very uneventful life there days, my fault I suppose I like the quiet life these days. I did shiftwork for most of my working days and spent a lot of time on my own and got used to it. My husband was at sea and was only home for a couple of months and then away for 6 months, sometimes even as long as 11 months. We got used to the separation and now we are both retired it can be challenging. I have my crafting to keep me occupied and my dogs, and he has his garden but at this time of year and weather conditions there is not a lot to do and he gets bored. We love to get the caravan out and tour around, mainly up north. My hubby has family down in Billingham (Teeside region) so we sometimes stay at Stockton on Tees at a caravan park there and visit. Roll on the good weather.
Now my card:

Now my card:
The card is an 8 X 8
The image was downloaded from The Paper Shelter (already coloured)
The background papers are from my stash
I used Spellbinder Lace Doily Accents for the two borders
Sentiment from Kanban
I typed teenager and Happy 13th Birthday on to image before printing
This card is a bit different from my first one but I thought as teenagers are into computers this was an apt image and they like their funky colours.
Well it's time for bed, bed. Because it is getting lighter earlier in the mornings I am wide eyed and bushy tailed very early, this morning it was 0510 and I just cannot go back to sleep once I am wakened. The dogs look at me when I call "walkies" around 0615 they turn over and try to ignore me but I am very persistent and get my way.
This leaves me to say as usual take care and wrap up warm.

Hi Wilma,
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love the image, wish I had as much hair, lol.
Been trying to snow here today, sick of the stuff now, me too wish it was summer, or at least have a bit of dry, mild weather.
Take care.

Small world as Sue said. Stockton is my home town and all my family are still there - my sisters both live in Billingham! We could have a real get together! This is a fabulous image and it's a great card. I'm going to check out this site! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteGood evening Wilma, great card , I've just discovered the Paper Shelter, and love their images.I love how you've dedecorated your card
ReplyDeleteSmall world indeed, I used to go to Billingham to visited friends, they have since left and live In the borders.
Hope the weather clears up for Saturday. Hope it doesn't freeze down your way tomorrow, take care, Kate x
Brilliant card Wilma. I love the paper shelter, in fact it was one of the first sites I used. Take Care. Hugs Rita xx
ReplyDeleteAnother great card for a teenager Wilma. As you say they love their technology! Love the die cut borders and the gingham goes well with the image.
ReplyDeleteNot much snow here, too wet I think but also as the crow flies we're quite near the North Sea. Last Tuesday we had almost nothing and it was horrendous in Aberdeen. Funny thing weather! Just back from Crieff today and Catriona said it was sleet and snow all day but not really lying. Hope it's ok tomorrow. I go out with my furry boys before 7am so that there's less chance of meeting anyone. They're very friendly and love people. Not easy to hold back two 40kg Labradors when they want to speak to someone lol!
Kat xx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wilma, isn't this weather terrible? Like you I don't mind when it's dry snow but this wet stuff gets you down and oh boy don't the dogs get in a mess, at least yours sit and get dried. Here's hoping the weather is better for Saturday. I do like your card very fitting for the teenager. Keep warm. Hazel
Super design Wilma, love the gorgeous hair. It is difficult to focus on what you enjoy when you are waiting to do something else. xx Flora
