Thank You Card

I have just had a browse around a lot of Blogs out there and there are some wonderful inspiration to be found.  I never knew there was so much that can be done with paper.  My Faux Book Card did not start very well.  I cut it all out as per instructions but when it came to the concertina bit I found I may have used too thick card so I giving it another try with thinner card for the inside and the thicker card for the outer part.  Got put off for a while but have cut out the inner bit again and will give it another try tomorrow.  Will have to get a move on as Hope's birthday is on the 21st Dec.

I though it would be warmer outside this morning for my dog walk because the forecast said it would be milder but boy was that wind cold, really biting.  The forecast for the weekend is sunshine all the way (believe that if you like) but hopefully for Sunday it may be warmer because my doggies get their hair cut and they will not wear coats.  The get so mucky at this time of year with their short legs their underside is closer to the ground and picks up all the rubbish going and the hair on their feed is like a sponge for all the grit on the paths.  The Council got it wrong again, when we needed the grit it was not where to be seen, not the ice has melted they come round and grit the pavements.  Oh don't get me started on their failings.

My card today was complete a wee while ago. It was a thank you to Sue at http://susiesplanet.blogspot.co.uk/  for the Blog Candy I won, there was so much in the parcel I could not believe my eyes.

Ingredients

8x8 card
Dotty/Stripe Papers free download from Jak Heath
Brown Paper from stash
LOTV Die cut topper
Spellbinders Label Twenty Two ( from my Blog Candy)
Ribbon. candi and sentiment from stash

I have still a load of goodies I received to use yet so really must get my finger out and do a lot more.  Maybe once the Christmas festivities are over I will get more time to play.

Well nearly bedtime, will tidy up at bit before I go to bed as I seem to spread my craft material all over the room and make such a mess.  I really need a larger desk to work on then the floor would not get dumped on.

So ladies have a good night's sleep and wake refreshed.

Take care and wrap up warm.

Wilma xxx

I'm not sure what our weather is like for the weekend, but it does feel warmer this morning.
Thank you Wilma for the lovely comments on Alistair's card, I just feel so encouraged as I don't consider myself all that good when I look around at the wonderful creations on the other blogs.

  4. Hi Wilma. With my concertina book I scored each fold on both sides of the card ( a tip from Kay at Hougie). I also used a bone folder on every single fold as I did it. I know it's time consuming but it makes a huge difference to the finished result. I used 220 GSM for the accordian and heavier for the book itself - can't remember what weight but probably 300 GSM because I like that for my cards to make them stand well. It's also important to make sure you push all the fold well into the corners before you glue them.
Good luck! Back to this card...the colours and layout are great and I adore this image. Have a good weekend. Christine x

  7. Hello Wilma,
Love this, the colours are beautiful and of course the image is great.
I found those "Book Cards" a bit of a pain. You have to get the folding just PERFECT. You have to do them to prove a point. I made quite a few last year but do not think it is a project I would jump at doing again.

  9. Good morning Wilma. Another great card love the colours and the image. Not to bad a day so far so here's hoping it stays that way. You talk about your two wee dogs getting mucky underneath? As they are nearer the ground , ours gets that way and he is a big lab.!!! Sometimes wish I could get him clipped to save all the hairs every where. Have a good day. Hazel
