Little Chrismas Pressies

Well my playing at being a designer with my Blog is over for a while. Hope you like the new look.  Hadn't a clue what I was doing, just pressed this and that and I am quite impressed with the result, will maybe tweek it later.

This card is my take on a card shown on Sue Wilson's Blog (www. particraft.blogspot.co.uk) or click on the Blogs I follow and you will get to her) and I just loved it, As I had the dies anyway away I went.  I have added a bit of bling and maybe the angle of the photograph could have been a bit better or maybe one of the pressies is slightly off but I just love it.  It takes ages to cut out all the squares and swirly bits but I believe it is worth it.

Well can't wait to hear from you ladies..

I used:
8 X 8 White Card
Black and White Foundtion Card from Creative Expressions for matting
Embossed the white card with Creative Expressions Tied Together Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Frosty Forms Shapeabilites
Sentiment a Christmas set from Lakeland
Gold gems from my collection

As I said not perfect but will try harder with the next one.  I just get carried away and want to try everything.  I have a few ideas for a kids version but will have to work on that.

  1. Good Morning Wilma,
Beautiful card. What a great Idea, simple, lot of work but a fantastic effect.
Think of all the "bits" from your Bit Box you could use for the parcels.................
That`s some amount of gems you have used there.
Have you seen Sue Wilson using Cosmic Shimmer Liquid Pearls for this. Takes some practice but saves a fortune in gems and pearls.
    Have a Great Day

  2. Hi Patricia, yep I have but have not been so successful yet but practise makes perfect. If I was not impatient I would persevere, but I will have to as it's expensive using gems.

    Thanks for the tip.

  4. Hi Wilma,
another really fab creation. I think it looks every bit as good as Sue's card. Love the card you have used for the parcels. If you do get used to using the pearly pva, just a word of caution don't use on pearlised card because they never stay nice and round like a pearl.
There must be something in that type of card. I thought I would just mention this as I'm not sure if you know. I have made some awful mistakes till I heard Julia Watts mention it on C and C.
    Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

    1. Hi Jenny, thanks for your lovely comments, and, yes I heard Julia mention the pearlised card last week on one of hr shows. I love the tips passed on from other crafters, that's the only way to learn.

    1. Had a bit of bother getting that folder bur finally sourced it and I just love using it. Must learn how to do the Cosmic Shimmer pearl drops to save money on gems.

  7. Hi Wilma,

This is great. Looks so simple and effective but I can appreciate the amount of effort that went into all those little parcels, but certainly worth it. I haven't actually tried using cosmic shimmer PVA glue yet but I really must have a go because like you I use a lot of little pearls and gems. The frost forms is new to me, but it's really lovely. Oh if only I was rich!!!!!

    love from Christine x
