Well who is a lucky girl then? Before joining blogger I had no luck in winning anything but now it seems my name is popping up all over the place, yes I have won more Candy. Kat at http://lilackat.blogspot.co.uk ran a blog candy and when I opened blogger yesterday morning there was my name. Thank you Kat I look forward to receiving you candy.
My card today is one I made from die cuts in my box. When I get a new die I love to try it out and get carried away sometimes. Hence my bit box is overflowing, must get round to using more. I think we crafters all have the same problem.
The Thursday afternoon "Good Companions Club" my mother attends have asked if I would like to start an afternoon session showing them how to make cards and other bits and pieces. I don't know if I can do this, I don't know where to start. If any of you lovely ladies have any ideas I would welcome the input, I would like to do it as their ages range from 60 something to 90 something and recently they have purchased a few cards from me. I have donated a few cards to the club for their funds, they were cards I made when I first began crafting and did not know what to do with them. They have raised £15 to date and I have a few more to hand in. I honestly did not think when I first started making cards that they would prove so popular and now, because of all the encouragement I have received since posting on my blog, I am beginning to believe in myself.
OK then enough of my rambling I am off to browse your posts and comment on your, I am sure, beautiful creations.
Take care out there.

Beautiful card love those flowers ,on your club thing ,you could make a card to take with you for demostration purpose ,then how many you will have in your class make the kit`s for that card and of course one for you then you can demo it as you go you may need loads of glue and tape .Melanie

Fabulous Wilma. The club idea is great. My mum used to go to a day centre and they had somebody come in to do cardmaking. It was all very simple, but it went down a treat. Good luck. Christine x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Wilma. Love that embossed corner and the lovely roses. Love the colour combo too.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go for giving lessons to some of the ladies. If you start of with something simple and have enough kits for them and yourself to make up as Melanie suggests it will be fun. I think simple is best as probably none of them have crafted before. Having everything prepared means less for you to take with you!
Have a lovely weekend.

Gorgeous card Wilma, love the bright colour! As for the craft group - go for it! My friend and I started teaching workshops a year ago, once a fortnight - now we are twice a month and be asked to do extra 'one offs'..we make up kits and look at different techniques each time. I am so glad we started it because I really love doing it! Carole Z XX

Hi Wilma,
ReplyDeleteI love this card. It's so bright and cheerful. Love the design and die cuts under those superb roses.
As for your little craft demonstration. I would personally make up a fairly simple card with some die cuts. Make up die cuts for the ladies so they don't have to use your precious embosser or GC, and then all they have to do is assemble them in a similar way. You could also show them how you made it too.
Hope this helps as this is what I did at my club.
Have a wonderful crafty bank holiday weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Wilma great colour combo on your card, the black and yellow go fab together. As to teaching the group or demonstrating, keep the ideas simple and cut your dies before hand. It's more work for you but takes the stress out of demo/class.
ReplyDeleteMost important of all enjoy it!
Hugs Erika.
Ooooo .... this is wonderful Wilma.
ReplyDeleteVery bright and beautiful .. I love it!!
Gorgeous die cuts.
With regards to the craft club .. .. I really think you should go for it. With work like this your classes would be very, very popular.
Love Jules xx
