What a lot going on!!!!

Ok I know I have been absent for a while but I have tried to keep up with all your Blogs.  I have not commented all the time but I have been viewing them.

My floor laying turned into a marathon, hubby decided as well as laying the wooden floor we needed to renew the skirting, wardrobe doors and facings.  Then I decided to decorate the room myself, no need to spend more money. Ah never again. I am not as young as I used to be and going up and down ladders sure made me feel my age.  Next time no volunteering, get someone in.  One room down, one to go.

This was only getting the wooden floor laid but it was hard work moving things from one room to the other then back again especially all my crafting material which I tried unsuccessfully to disguise from hubby, better he did not know how much "stuff" I had.

Last Friday my mum took ill during the night, I had to telephone for an ambulance at 0430 as I could not get sense out of her and she was a dead weight lying over the bed. The paramedics were great as was the A&E especially at that time in the morning.  She was admitted and lots of tests carried out and its inner ear problems, a big name shortened to BPPV Vertigo.  Pretty frightening experience for her and me but she is home now but has lost a lot of confidence and needs more personal care help.

I am desperately trying to get my spare bedroom/craft-room sorted out so I can get back to making cards. Today the sun shone and it was lovely sitting out so not a lot done inside, tomorrow is another day.

I must welcome Hazel to Blogland, it has taken her a while and she it not up to par yet but great to see her onboard. She is the sister of Patricia who a lot of you will know. Hazel makes wonderful gift baskets which I think will be popular once she can post her photos.

Hopefully after tomorrow I will be in a position to show a card made by my delicate hands, not promising but the thought is there.  I am really missing my "playtime" and need my crafting fix.

Thought I should let you know why I was miss in action as I worry if I don't see a post from one of my blog friends.  I am well just fed up with all the upheaval but we are getting there.

Take care my friends.

  1. Hello Wilma. I really thought you might have been on holiday. No such luck I can hear you say. Never mind ,think how lovely and fresh your rooms will be after the makeover. Your hubby sounds just like mine, seeing other things to do as well as the one in hand. I have PBV as well Wilma and its now controlled by tablets. But was so scary, I kept falling all over the place, you'd think I had a dram. Take Care and I look forward to seeing your next card. Hugs Rita xx

  2. Hello Wilma, I wondered where you were, good to see you back.
What a worring time for you and your poor mum, really scarey. Pleased that the hospital sorted your mum out and that she had it diagnosed and that it can be treated.
My husband is the opposit Wilma, he hates anything to do with maintaining the house and I have to work on him a couple of years in advance if I want anything done. I keep telling him he doesn't deserve to live in a house, should be a tent. However he does have other endering qualtites even although the house could be falling down around our ears.

Looking forward to seeing your new creations. Hugs kate x

  3. Hello Wilma. Thought I would pop across after your kind comments on my blog.
My, you have been busy so hope you can get back to crafting soon. Also hope your Mum is better.
Was shocked to read on your earlier post about your Grand Calibur and horrified reading others tales. I would be beside myself if mine broke!
Off to hang out washing now whilst the Sun is out.
    Take care

  7. Hello Wilma, Hope you are all done under foot, sending best wishes for your mum and hugs to you. My crafting has now been slowed down totally as there is too much going on. maybe I will have to make a special effort when Sue's stamps arrive. xx Flora

  8. Hi Wilma

Gosh it sounds like you have had your hands full .. .. what with sorting things at home and then the worry of your Mum taking poorly. I hope that she is feeling a little better now. How scary for you all.

Take care and have a good day.

    Love Jules xx

  9. Hi Wilma,
so sorry to hear of your Mum's not been well. Here's hoping she is feeling better now. My brother in law suffers with a similar prob, and he has to take it very easy when waking up and getting out of bed. He always lies there for at least 15 mins before putting his feet to the ground. That seems to help.
Your rooms sound lovely, and lots of hard work, but I am sure it will be all worthwhile in the end.I can quite understand you getting with drawl symptoms concerning your crafting.
Thank you for letting us all know what's been going on in your very busy life.
    Have a wonderful crafty evening.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  14. Hi Wilma,
sorry to contact you this way, but I haven't got your email address.
My handle on my GC has broken and I wondered if you had an address for me to order another one.
My hubby has put a screw and washer in there for the present, but he says it won't last forever.
I am asking this as you had a problem with yours recently, and I hope you may have a contact address. Mine is about one and half years old. Would be very grateful if you could help.
Hope all is okay with you and your family. Sorry to be a nuisance.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
