Christmas is Coming!!

As if we need reminding that Santa is on his way, no matter how organised we are is still comes round too quickly.  I am one of those last minute shoppers as I can never decide what to get anyone.  People who can start Christmas Shopping really early and have it all wrapped up in October, I have a friend who is this organised, are very lucky. I shall be running around at the last minute as usual, although as a family we have cut back drastically this year and only the children are getting presents, no adults as it is getting more and more difficult to find any inexpensive appropriate gifts as money is getting tight for everyone.

On a lighter note here is a Christmas card I made to cheer myself up all christmassy red and carol singers.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Backing paper Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 Double sided Cardstock
Spellbinders Grand Labels One
LOTV die cut carol singers image
Spellbinders Poinsettia die
White Glitter card (for poinsettias), sentiment, gems and glitter from stash

A nice simple card but very effective.  It is one I have been asked to make for a few people so I must have got something right.

As usual I eagerly await your comments, and am off now for a quick browse around to see what gems you ladies have come up with today.

Take care.

  1. A real Christmas-sy card Wilma. I love it. Like you we are buying children only. It is all far too commercial anyway. Have a good day. Christine. x

  2. Gorgeous Wilma, I love red and white for Christmas cards. I love that cute LOTV image and the lovely glittery poinsettias too.

I know what you mean about Christmas presents. I base my childrens' presents on the cost of my son-in-law's car magazine subscription plus a modest Christmas stocking. The grandkids get something for their savings and a stocking too. A few years ago we decided that the kids should only spend £10 on each other and us and we all try to stick to that.

  3. Oh! Wilma this is just gorgeous, I love everything about it.

Every year we have a gathering at Christmas for all the family....Sisters their husbands and children. those children now all have partners and children. It was getting way too expensive for gift buying. Last year we started a "Secret Santa" for the family gathering. Hazel and her elder daughter organized it all and worked a treat, so much cheaper for everyone.

    Have a Great Day

  4. After noon Wilma. I didn't say good as it is a damp miserable one here. Had to go to Perth this morning to take the Hoover from work to be repaired, so did some shopping but was glad to get home again the price of things
Is just terrible. Glad that like Patricia said we did the "Secret Santa" last year as it works out so much cheaper.
I noticed that your advent calendars are shown on the "Scottish Crafters " site how's that ???
I can see why you cheered yourself up with today's card it is cheerful and lovely. Hazel

  13. Hi Wilma,
Definitely a bright, cheerful Christmas card, very cute image, like your other comments, I would love this on my mantle, just beautiful.
As a family, we do not bother buying presents for each other, instead we take it in turns to go to each others homes for the day to have a Christmas Dinner, who hosts the day, feeds and entertains the rest of us, so we only pay for Christmas one in five years, it's great, hee hee, two more years to go until it's mine turn again, hee hee again.
Secret Santa is a great way of cutting the cost of Christmas down. You will have to talk to your family, lol.
    Have a good day tomorrow.
