It's a Girl Again

Well here goes again another girl card, it's all boys in our family, want a pink fluffy thing to buy for. Its horrid at night trying to get a decent photograph because the flash tends to distort the colours.  I was meant to make this for my sister to give to her friend's daughter by yesterday but better late than never,  It is now ready for her.

I don't know if it's the clocks going back or the weather but I cannot drum up any enthusiasm for anything these days, feel tired all the time.  Maybe I am coming down with something will have to wait and see or am I suffering from SAD?

Hope all you ladies are keeping well, I so love to read your comments and see all the cards you post.  I have been introduced to many other sites through reading your blogs and found digi images, never heard of them before now I can't get enough and free downloads of papers, etc.  Never had so many papers. I must have been a dinosaur or head in the sand as my world has been opened up, so much so that my hubby is complaining that I am never off the IPad or PC, saying "I much have that, or "never knew you could do that" etc.  So I must say thank you very much for opening up my horizons.

Now for the card

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Forever Friends New Arrival 12" x 12" paper pad
Heartwarmers Die cut Topper
Pink Ribbon, gems and other sentiments from stash

Well fellow bloggers your comments will be eagerly awaited and hopefully I can get back to making more cards to keep up with the excellent cards being produced by you all.

Take care, and wrap up warn.

Goodies from Glasgow Hobbycrafts Show

Hopefully I may get back to normality now that my Advent Frames are nearly complete. Only the finishing touches which are even more fiddly than making the boxes.  You must be as fed up as I am of hearing about this saga but when I took it on I thought piece of cake, well, no, it was not, but the end is in sight.

I visited Hobbycraft Show at SECC Glasgow yesterday, my friend's daughter, Alisha, was supposed to be with me but she has acute tonsillitis and was unable to attend.  So off I went and had a good browse around and bought a few things, not as much as usual but then I came home and ordered  the Envelopplus plus free Project CD-ROM online from Crafter's Companion. They had a stall at the show but was small and no offers.

I also met up with Patricia (Summerhouse Crafts) and after passing her a few times we finally met, how many ladies at the SECC have the same hair colouring as Patricia, after a false start I finally tracked her down.  We did not have long together but I feel she is a genuine lady and would love to catch up for a longer gossip.  If you look at her collection on (Summerhouse Crafts) you can see we bought four items the same/similar, wonder what that says.  Here is a photo of my stash and the items both Patricia and I both bought.

My stash

similar or the same (Lili of the Valley die cut toppers, Spellbinders rose creations, some charms and Chipboard tags)

it must be great minds think alike!!!!!

Well I have to make a 60th Birthday card today for my friend's kids to give to their grandad, got my instructions Tatty Ted theme, and also one for her to give her dad. Boy will I be busy today.  So it's head down and get on with it.

Have a Good Sunday.

Fame at last Ha Ha

Hi fellow Bloggers, and welcome to my new followers, who would believe I have this many.  Just had to post this to blow my own trumpet. Fame at last. I 've been featured in Christine Emberson's Blog  (Hope and Chances) showing my Advent Frame (my first one), six more nearly finished. Will photograph them all together later and then post them.

Disaster yesterday, I lost my die for cutting out the lids for my little boxes. Panic stations, everything was pulled out, dustbin emptied, hubby accused of putting it in a safe place. Then what did I see peeking out under some paper on my desk, yes, my die, how I missed it I will never know, but panic over.   I have not been in such a state for a long time, had visions of having to purchase a new lot of dies.  Luckily,  no, now I have more money to spend at Hobbycraft show in Glasgow on Saturday.

Now this card was a freebie download from Jak Heath Designs, it was meant to be a Valentine card but I think it could cover many occasions.

Ingredients
Well just the page downloaded from Jak Heath Designs cut out
Topper and border mounted on red card
A few gems from stash and Wallah a card

Simple, quick and well just nice.

Hopefully my marathon is near an end, after my mishap yesterday my task tonight is to finally get them all completed even if like Jenny L (Cardsarus) I am up all night.

Just a quickie to let you all know I am still here and hopefully back to cardmaking soon.

Leave a comment as every one is read and I enjoy all you have to say.

Ruffled card

I have been missing for a few days, sorry ladies, have been extremely busy with my Advent Box Frames, have to get them ready for my friends.  The weather is horrid out there this morning, thick fog, drizzle but not too cold but that is use to change by the end of the week, colder and it might snow. Ah well winters really on its way, time to wrap

Today's card was one I made a while ago, the bow needs to be fluffed up but otherwise I am pleased with it.

Ingredients (to the best of my recollection)

A5 white card
Hunkydory green embossed card
Spellbinders lattice die (Sue Wilson design)
Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs and Accents
Ribbon from stash (I tend to buy ribbon whenever I see one I like)

Hopefully after today's marathon, glueing boxes, I will get back to making cards, which I really enjoy.  The Advent Box Frames seem to have taken over my life at the moment, but I get a feeling of satisfaction when I complete one.

Take you all.

Christmas Time

Hi all, I am grateful for all the wonderful comments on my cards, this has given me the confidence to carry on.  Although after seeing some of the cards posted I feel I come bottom of the list as you are so very talented and give me inspiration and loads of hints and tips.  I have browsed more sites in the last few weeks after reading your blogs and found some wonderful freebies.  I was very impressed by the paper you can download and digi stamps, although stamping is still on my to do list.

This card is along the lines of one made my heroine, Sue Wilson, when I diversify from her cards I seem to get lost in space, although that is were I am most days. Hope you like it.  I think I will have to be more careful when matching colours there seems to be a few variations of red here.  Maybe just the way is has been photographed.  I took it out to the conservatory to get some natural light, but that was difficult as it has poured down all day.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Red sticky tape round outside of card
Cosmic Shimmer Mica Flakes (Luna Silver) on sticky tape
Red card from stock
Creative Expression Milk Foundations Card embossed with A4 M-Bossabilities - Garden Lattice
Red card embossed with Creative Expression Tied Together embossing folder
Spellbinders Poinsettia Die
Spellbinders Frosty Forms for reindeer
Red Ribbon from Hobbycraft
Twine, bells, gems and sentiment from stash

Thought you would like to see a photograph taken yesterday of my sister's four grandchildren and one great grandchild (reading from left to right Findlay, Kalum (who is dad to baby), Fraser (who is profoundly deaf), baby William, and last but not least Lewis.  Lovely children full of fun.

This a photograph of the five generations in our family, back row Kalum (Dad) and his mum Lesley(my niece), front Minnie (my mum and great great gran), Marion (my sister and great gran) and of course wee William (11 days old).

Well ladies enough of my ramblings.  Once again I eagerly await your comments on my card and family if you like.

Take care you all.

It's a Boy!!!!

Where does all this rain come from, we are going to have webbed feet before long.  My dogs were lucky this morning I got them out before the rain began, but I promised to take my sister's grandchildren out for a walk at 10 o'clock but just as I arrived at the door for them down it came, so that was called off.  Gives me more time for carfting.  I really will have to get my finger out as I have had a few orders for the Advent Box Frames and running the dies through Grand Calibur to cut then emboss takes an age, but I love doing it.

I am later posting on my Blog as the photographs I need are on the PC not my IPad and I have to walk the dogs and housework before I can switch it on as I would be there all day.  Once I sit at the PC I love to browse and nothing would get done.

This card is another quickie

Ingredients are

5-1/2  x 5-1/2 blue card
Background Forever Friends New Arrival 12 x 12 paper pad
Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 double sided cardstock
Forever Friends Die cut frames
Corners and baby boy sentiment from stash

Just think this is so cute.

Well ladies better crack on and get some cards made and box lids cut out, boy am I going to be busy.  Look forward to seeing your comments.

I forgot to mention I have another follower, welcome Sue.

Take care you all.

Its A Girl!!!!

Well it's another wet day here and what else to do but craft.  The dogs are refusing to go out this lunchtime because they got soaked this morning and I have caught up finally with all my outstanding chores, so its hands down and off we go.

Before I start crafting here is a wee quickie card I made yesterday for an Italian lady in the village.  She has been over her for 30/40 years and still has not fully grasped the language, so its hard to make out exactly what she wants on her cards.  So I make up and hope for the best, she said simple but sweet.

I must say welcome to another two followers Carole and Lilakat and I have also discovered who my anonymous follower is and it wonderful to know who she is.

So here is my contribution for today.

Ingredients for this are
5x7 White card
pink card from stash
Spellbinders Basic Lattice Die
New Baby embelishment from Heartwarmers Die Cut Toppers
Peeloffs, and other embelishments from my stash

Well Ladies as I usually do, I eagerly await your comments/sugestions on this simple card, will really have to get my finger out and make more cards for posting as in the past I did not photograph them and my stock is running low.

Time to wind down

How pleased I am to get the Advent frame No 1 out of the way, 5 more to go, although I have had a few more enquiries, so looks like I may be busy over the next few weeks.  I think my right arm will be well developed after cutting out all the box bases and lids. with only one set of dies you can only cut a lid and base then through it goes again to be embossed then comes the glueing. oh boy what have I started.

Thank you so very much for having a look at my blog and making your comments I really appreciate you spending time looking/commenting.

This card is one I made a while ago and I cannot be exact on products used but it is one I like.  I kept it flat as it was going through the post otherwise I would have built up the Asters a bit more.

Ingredients are (I think)

A4 White Card, Pink Card all from my box of tricks
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Flora for background
Spellbinders Floral Ovals
Spellbinders Aster Flower Topper
Sentiment was a Creative Expression stamp I believe but don't quote me on that
Tim Holtz Spun Sugar distressed ink pad
Glitter, ribbon and gems from my stash

And that is it, quick and easy, don't you just love these type of cards now and then ..

I am looking forward to 27 October as I am visiting SECC Glasgow for Hobbycrafts show, just love going there I have a tin bank which I try to fill and that gives me  money to spend and I don't feel so guilty bring home my secret stash.

Well ladies that's enough from me tonight.  Once again I eagerly await your comments/suggestions.

The Big Reveal ? ? ?

Well I hope you have all been waiting in eager anticipation on my "Big Reveal" and I hope you will not be disappointed.  I saw this Advent Frame on Spellbinders Website and then it was shown on Christine Emberson's Blog (Hope-Chances) and I decided to have a go a while back.  I cut out all the boxes and lids, glued them up, but for the life of me I just could not get the numbers to line up properly.  The card I wasted and the pulling out of my hair and throwing it in a corner, well you can imagine how frustrating it was.  I emailed Christine for assistance and lo and behold she comes up with the goods.  She is selling kits for making these Advent Frames in her shop (can be accessed via her blog) and was willing to let me purchase 25 numbers all printed and cut out.  Well you can imagine how I felt after all these weeks of frustration, I jumped at the offer and even ordered 5 more as I may have six people interested.  She sells the wooden frames so I bought one to use as a template and my brother-in-law made me the rest I needed.

Christine is selling the complete kit ready to assemble for £35.00 and the Wooden Frames are £17.00, the set of numbers 1-25 are £1.50, whoa you would think I was on commission from her for revealing all this but unfortunately not.

So here it is, hope you like it, I am selling them either with or without fillings.

Below is a selection of goodies which will fit in the boxes if required, I will be adding sweets as well.

Ingredients are:
Wooden Box Frame Approx 10 1/2 inch  X 10 1/4 inch
Spellbinders Grand Templates Square Bracket Edge Box
Gold card background cut with Spellbinders Marvellous Squares (2nd smallest one)
The numbers purchased from Hope-Chances (Christine Emberson)
Snowman, Stocking and Joy are from a set of handcrafted Christmas embellishments I bought a few years ago.

This is what has been driving me mad over the last few weeks and now I have completed one, five more to go, I feel happy. I have two sets with boxes made up, two with boxes cut out ready to glue and one to start from scratch.  The last one I would love to do a Tatty Ted theme as I have the CD but that is still in the thought machine.

Hope you are not too disappointed but I really built this up, but it means a lot to me to have been able to complete it.

Comments/suggestions eagerly awaited as usual.

Thanks ladies

Variation on a Theme

Well needless to say today's posting is not the one I intended.  My project like Pam (pamscrafts) is taking more time than I anticipated. In order to get things lined up I need a good light and this afternoon it rained and rained and rained so I could not get the light I needed.  Will have to invest in one of those lamps that make it look like you are working in daylight.  Sorry to keep you hanging on (hope it is worth it) but tomorrow, yes tomorrow.

Did you see I had 14 comments on my last posting and new followers as well. Welcome Sue P (Planet Susie) and Michelle (happy2craft).  When I first set out on the Blogging Scene I never for one moment believed anyone would comment on my creations but how wrong. and want to follow my blog.  It's just amazing and I am loving every minute of it, in fact I am spend too much time browsing and not crafting.

This card is a variation on a theme.  It's using Sue Wilson (particraft) designed lattice motifs and accents which I used on "Just to Say" post.

Ingredients for this Card are

My usual 8x8 card (just love this size)
Creative Expressions Foundation Card in Coconut White
Paper is from Forever Friends New Arrival 12 x 12  double sided paper pad
Spellbinders Lattice Motifs and Accents
Butterfly is a Marianne Design
Pearls and sentiment from my stash

This was one of my earlier cards pretty basic but now I am learning to expand a bit.

As usual I eagerly await your comments/suggestions and thank you for all the previous comments/suggestions you have made.  I am touched by the way you ladies have helped and advised me.  I am going to have a notebook by my side when I read the comments so that I can thank each helpful person personally, because by the time I get to posting my mind has gone blank on who said what.

Have a good day tomorrow.

So be prepared. big build up, I hope I don't fall flat on my face and it does not turn out right.

This card today is a Sue Wilson inspired Christmas one, please note ladies I have attempted the Cosmic Shimmer pearls not too successfully but practise makes perfect, I will make another for my box and do better. This one was just a trial to see how it turned out.

What can we use this one for?

Hi all, once again not a very productive day as regards crafting, I seem to be at everyones beck and call these days running errands, taxi services or general dogsbody.  When will I get time to fit in making cards.  My nephew was up tonight just as I settled down to make some cards to get me to print off insurance documents for him. He is off to New York to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary and his printer packed in (well what are aunties for) and we got chatting about what they intend to do over there and the time flew by.

I also has a visit from the new baby this afternoon.  When I had my son we did not take babies out for about a week to acclimatise them, nowadays they are up and out as soon as they are born.  He is beautiful, so tiny, I got to feed him and of course change his nappy, love disposable nappies, we had the terry ones and what  work was involved washing and drying them.

I am running out of cards to show here so I better get my finger out tomorrow.  Sorry but this one is similar to one I posted earlier, similar but different.

Ingredients for this are

8x8 card
White card stock
Blue pearlised card from Create and Craft
Spellbinders Persian Motifs for the small squares and the large circle for the middle
Memory Box La Rue Flourish
Blue ribbon I think this was a bundle I got from Creative Expressions
Blue Pearls

There is no sentiment on this one as I intend to put an appropriate one on if someone likes it, or I use it myself.

Well ladies I have enjoyed reading all your comments on my cards and feel quite proud especially as you all seemed to like my efforts,  As I have not been crafting long this has given me a great boost to continue.  I have my daily Blog fix as I have my coffee around 0530, can't seem to sleep too long, and then later around 1100.  My husband says he wishes he had not bought me an IPad as its never out of my hands but I have to keep up with all the postings and comments.  You all seem to be very talented and each day I am impressed by the cards you post, I only hope I reach your standards some day.

Night night don't let the bedbugs bite.

Just to Say.......

Well today has been really sunny, I took the dogs to Aberdour Beach for a run around, they love the sand but not the water, dipping their toes in is about as much as they do. Now we have a frosty night, nice clear sky with lots of stars.  Just had the dogs for a short walk (they have just had a haircut and feeling chilly) and boy I can feel the cold in the air.  Winter has come really early this year, the central heating has been on, mainly for my mother who lives with me, as she feels it most, but I must admit I am cold tonight.

This card was again inspired by Sue Wilson (Particraft. blogspot.co.uk), I must admit I just love her cards and her Spellbinder Dies.

Ingredients for this are

Creative Expressions Foundation Card in Black, Coconut White and Taupe.
The floral background was just a piece of card in my box
Spellbinders Lattice Motifs and Accents (designed by Sue Wilson)
Sentiment and pearls from my stash

I think the way the card has been offset really make it interesting.  I have tried it a few different colours but failed to take photographs as I did not think I would get into Blogging.  Now I am everything gets snapped.  As my husband says if it does not move it gets a picture taken.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know over the last few days I have been run of my feet but hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get down to some serious crafting as I have my stocks to replenish. My niece who is over from Spain and who runs a Bar/Restaurant in Benidorm has asked to take a load of cards back with her to sell in the Bar, as a lot of Ex Patts partake of a tipple there.  She thinks she will have a ready market for them.  Also I have my new A4 Embossing folder to play with  and the Marvelous Squares and Resplendent Rectangles which arrived on Friday and what with everything going on I have not had a play yet.  So finger crossed nothing will get in my way, I so want to play.

Have a good day (Monday) and take care you all.

Birth of my Great Great Nephew

Hi all it's been another one of them days. I have not had a minute to myself.  Why is it everyone wants you at the same time.  I love to help out but when you are drawn in six different ways it is tiring.  Listen to me an old grump, usually I am not in demand but today I was telephoned, emailed, accosted in the the street ( by an elderly lady who thinks I am here to run after her all the time, she has a daughter but calls on me first), oh well I may be in the position one day (no chance).

Enough of my moans, I am just getting round to to look at the posts for today and thought I would post the card I made for my niece's grandson (I think that makes him my Great Great Nephew). He was born at 0030 this morning and weight 6lb 10oz and they are both well.  My niece lives in Spain and a lady made her a card to bring over and she was not happy with it (seems she forgot I made cards) and asked me to rearrange it somehow.  Well glue, scissors etc and I was able to get near enough what she wanted.  Wait till she sees the one I made, huh she will wish she had picked me (full of myself tonight).

The ingredients are:

8x8 card
Green spotty paper and glittered Bumble bee paper from Forever Friends New Arrival paper pad
Spellbinder Grand Labels |One
Spellbinders Labels Twenty Three
Sentiment printed from PC
Embelishments from Great Expressions Card Decorations
Pearls from stash

I hope Kalum (my great nephew) and his partner Emma like this card, I am just longing for my chance at hugging baby William, which will be soon I hope.  I really need to become a bit more proficient at taking photographs as this does not show the real card.

Well ladies I am away to have a trawl of today's post, nearly bedtime and boy I am looking forward to that.

Night Night

Just for You . . . . .

What a busy Thursday I have had, don't know where the day went. I am desperately trying to complete  a project I started ages ago, will reveal in due course, but just can't seem work out how I want to finish it.  Ah well I will play around and eventually it will come to fruition. I am also making a card for the birth of my niece's grandson who is on his way today but the way things are going it may be tomorrow.

The card today was created when I decided to have a play with card, embelishments and dies I had to hand.

I know I used

Creative Expression Foundation card in Black (I know it looks Navy Blue but it is black)
Two Spellbinders Persian Accents for the border down the left hand side
Spellbinders Labels twenty three
The flowers, butterfly, sentiment and gold pattenerd card came from a kit I bought from Kanban
( it took me ages to use it as I liked looking at it, stupid but thats me)
Pearls (did not know at the time about the Cosmic Shimer PVA glue that could be used, still not mastered that yet but will keep trying)

I am posting this on Thursday night as I have a busy day ahead tomorrow (Friday) especially first thing in the morning and I just love reading your comments as you all know I am relatively new to card making and blogging.

Have a wonderful day and take care especially you Jenny L after your misfortune with your car.

"White" Christmas

Hi ladies one more Christmas Card for you to cast your expert gaze over.  This is, I must say, is  an idea I pinched, no was inspired by, from Sue Wilson (www.particraft.blogspot.co.uk).  I thought it was so lovely I had to create it but add my own bit of bling.  My Mojo was dry that day I think.

I really must take better photographs of these cards to do them justice.  When I took this it was only for my own records not for public display.  My attitude to Christmas Cards is changing now that I can see what other crafters are producing, it is opening up new ideas for me.

Thank you ladies for your inspiration.

Christmas Cheer

Here goes with my first Christmas card for your ladies comments.  A bit late this morning as the dogs had to be walked round to the groomers for a haircut.  Shaolin the male was in a stroppy frame of mind this morning and would not behave for Pamela (the groomer),  just got back home and had a phone call to say Shaolin was really agressived then I had to walk back to placate him and show him who is boss.  That done they both look adorable.

I said to Patricia (Summerhouse Crafts) that is was all her fault the I got into Blogging, because of her she has opened up a new and wonderful window for me.  I adore my early morning roundup of all the cards posted on your blogs and then if I have time sitting with my coffee adding my comments.  If that does not work, well there is always later in the day to wile away an afternoon like now.  Posting my card and awaiting your comments.

The ingredients are

Creative expressions foundation card in Coconut milk and black
Red card from stash

Spellbinders Poinsettia Die
Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments die
Sentiments and gems from my stash

So ladies once again I eagerly await your comments.

Have a great day.

Spellbinders Floral Oval Die
Papermania 'MUM' stamp
Spellbinder Floral Tags for small sentiment
Spellbinders Daisy Flower Topper , inner petals inked with various Tim Holzt Distressed Inks

Pretty in White

This is for you Marie-Louise, you said it would be nice in white, well here it is.  I made it as a wedding card for the bride and groom and thought it turned out quite nice so I did it twice.

Quiet day today not a lot happening so after dog walking, housework, ironing etc I may sit down and tidy my craft area.  I just cannot find anything these days.  I buy new products put them somewhere then come across them weeks later so a big tidy is due.

Well I hope you all have a lovely day, take care.

The ingredients are basically the same as "Pretty in Pink" with the addition of peel-off around the edge.

As usual ladies any comments/suggestions will be gratefully received.
