40th Birthday Card

Hi all, I felt really lucky yesterday, firstly my name was pulled to receive Velcro from Christine Emberson's  blog http://hope-chances.blogspot.co.uk, then I won blog candy at Planet Susie http://susiesplanet.blogspot.co.uk, oh how lucky can one get. I immediately went on to buy some euro millions tickets in case it was "three in a row", have not checked them yet, feel I am being greedy or chancing my luck.  Oh,  I checked my Euromillions and won £2.90. ah well at least I won.

Yesterday I had a surprise day babysitting, young William had been up all night and his mum Emma was exhausted so Auntie Wilma took over so she could catch up on her sleep. I ended up having him all day and being only 7 weeks old he was a joy to look after. How could I forget that little boys are a danger when they have no nappy on, I left his nappy open while I fed him and suddenly felt my lap getting wet, oh the joys of babies, but I loved every minute of it. Every time he stirred in his pram my two dogs went over to stand guard, they were intrigued by him. As a result the 40th birthday card I was due to make had to be put on hold until today

(A few hours later) ......Fortieth Birthday card done and dusted and a couple of other projects, to be revealed later.

As usual ladies I eagerly look forward to reading your kind comments.  I really have to get more Christmas cards made for my own use or no one will get any this year.  We as a family have decided to cut back on cards this year and donate to a charity.

Take care ladies, wrap up warm.

  3. Wilma, you did have a day full of lovely surprises, but I think the one that gave you the best joy was looking after William. That wet leg moment was a surprise full of memories. Emma must have been so grateful that you were able to have him so she could get that much needed sleep. I can't believe you managed to make a beautiful card to. Enjoy a restfull day. Hazel

  7. Beautiful card Wilma. The red and white are great! My funniest bay boy experience was when I was a midwife and popped a tiny bay on the scales to weigh him. As I bent forward to check I felt a stream of very warm "liquid" hit my cap, run off my hair and drip down my face. Don't know where it all came from. I was much more careful after that I can assure!!!! love from Christine xx

  11. Hi Wilma,
I am sooooo glad you won those lovely goodies. I said they would be put to really good use by you.
Your card is a superb creation. Love everything about it.
I would dearly like six crafty people to be given all the same items to craft with. The end result of everyone's card would be so totally different don't you think.
Don't you just love those little babies even if they do a trickle on the lap. My fav part of babies is their knuckles only they are not knuckles on babies they are dimples.
    Have a wonderful crafty evening.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
