Merry Christmas to you all

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my fellow bloggers. Looking forward to the coming year.  Have been sooooo busy over the last week I have not been able to produce anything but come the new year I hope to be able to get back to posting  every day.

Only leaves me to thank you all for your kind words and inspiration during the past few months, I am so honoured to have found so many friends because I count you all as personal and close friends.

Have a lovely day, eat drink and be merry.

Before and After Photos

How happy am I, I have found my A4 embossing folder.  I searched high and low for it, in all my boxes, in everything I could think of and low and behold there it was.  I have an open backed shelving unit and it had slipped down the back and wedged between two shelves.  Boy I am a happy bunny, I just could not think of where it could have got to.

Now Michelle at http://happy2craft.blogspot.co.uk/ who is a dog groomer as well as a Blogger asked to see before and after photos of my two dogs when they got their haircut,  Well yesterday was the big day and luckily it was quite mild so here they are.

Scruffy
Not so scruffy but not very happy

Scruffy

look at me I'm gorgeous

Well ladies what do you think?  I love them with longer hair but you have to groom them every day or they matt,  they both like shorter hair as they run around a lot better and for me they are easier to keep clean.

Here is an example of a card I made and don't really like maybe too many dotty bits.  Just thought I would show it because I  expect there are others out there that have made cards and have not shown them for one reason or another.  Maybe it would grow on me after a time but not just now.

We had a bit of trauma at the weekend.  My sister Marion injured her leg after a fall a few weeks ago but was able to get around.  Saturday night she turned and heard something go in her knee, extremely painful and just could not move for the pain.  We phoned NHS24 for advice, they were very busy and said they would get back to us within 3 hours.  3 hours later, with Marion standing on one leg leaning on the dining room table, we contacted them again.  They sent an ambulance to take her to the A&E.  Well to cut a long story short, we arrived at 2200 and left at 0230, after eventually getting her leg X-rayed, and the doctor could not find a reason for her pain, she was put in a splint given painkillers and sent home.  She looks after her three grandchildren Mon-Wed and has to pick them up, Fraser from Playgroup and Findlay and Lewis from School and now that she is unable to drive I have had to take over. So crafting in the afternoon is out at the moment.

Well ladies sorry for rambling on a bit today.  Hope all is well with you all.  Take care and wrap up warm.

Thank You Card

I have just had a browse around a lot of Blogs out there and there are some wonderful inspiration to be found.  I never knew there was so much that can be done with paper.  My Faux Book Card did not start very well.  I cut it all out as per instructions but when it came to the concertina bit I found I may have used too thick card so I giving it another try with thinner card for the inside and the thicker card for the outer part.  Got put off for a while but have cut out the inner bit again and will give it another try tomorrow.  Will have to get a move on as Hope's birthday is on the 21st Dec.

I though it would be warmer outside this morning for my dog walk because the forecast said it would be milder but boy was that wind cold, really biting.  The forecast for the weekend is sunshine all the way (believe that if you like) but hopefully for Sunday it may be warmer because my doggies get their hair cut and they will not wear coats.  The get so mucky at this time of year with their short legs their underside is closer to the ground and picks up all the rubbish going and the hair on their feed is like a sponge for all the grit on the paths.  The Council got it wrong again, when we needed the grit it was not where to be seen, not the ice has melted they come round and grit the pavements.  Oh don't get me started on their failings.

My card today was complete a wee while ago. It was a thank you to Sue at http://susiesplanet.blogspot.co.uk/  for the Blog Candy I won, there was so much in the parcel I could not believe my eyes.

Ingredients

8x8 card
Dotty/Stripe Papers free download from Jak Heath
Brown Paper from stash
LOTV Die cut topper
Spellbinders Label Twenty Two ( from my Blog Candy)
Ribbon. candi and sentiment from stash

I have still a load of goodies I received to use yet so really must get my finger out and do a lot more.  Maybe once the Christmas festivities are over I will get more time to play.

Well nearly bedtime, will tidy up at bit before I go to bed as I seem to spread my craft material all over the room and make such a mess.  I really need a larger desk to work on then the floor would not get dumped on.

So ladies have a good night's sleep and wake refreshed.

Take care and wrap up warm.

Just One More

Hope your are all well. How I hate this cold weather but it is not as bad as snow.  I see we are due a mild spell at the weekend,  luckily I have the dogs booked in for a haircut on Sunday and although it may be wet it is to be warmer.  They are looking really scruffy but Pamela, who grooms them, will make them lovely again.  I do like their coats longish but it is much more difficult to keep them matt free so in the long run it is better for them and me.  They do not like wearing coats, it is like a standoff with them.  I put the coat on they dig their heels in and refuse to move, I take the coat off and they run around ready for a walk. I like to try and keep them dry if it's raining but not them.

I don't seem to have done much over the last few days but every time I sit down my eyes close.  I have been having trouble with cramp a few nights and it is keeping me awake, otherwise I am fine.  There are a few projects I need to do.  Hope, a young disabled lass, a few door up from us is having her 7th  birthday on the 21st December and her mum wants one of the Faux Books made with a Tatty Ted theme so I really must set about that.  I let Leeanne, Hope's mum, see a photo of the one on Christine's Blog http://christinescardsandcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ so she asked if I could attempt one for Hope.  Well tonight I am cutting out the paper and giving it a try.  Wish me luck!

Here is my card for tonight, using  a LOTV image one more, how I love to use them.

 Ingredients

6X6 Card (I think it was from Hunkydory)
Red card from stock
Home for Christmas (Papermania) paper
(I also lined the inside of the card with a contrasting paper show it would show through the cut outs)
LOTV die cut topper
Sentiment and glitter from my stash

Well that's my latest goings on, not a lot to report.  I do so love reading all your posts and finding out what everyone is up to. It's a busy time of the year, especially for those with children and who are working so I wish you all well and hope you don't get too stressed out over the coming days.  I am away now to tackle my project, See you all soon.

Take care and wrap up warm.

The End is in Sight!!!!

Good afternoon, what a better day, at least I have been to keep upright today when walking the dogs.  The sun shone for a while and most of the ice/snow is gone, hurrah for that. It was great to be able to walk for a fair distance because we have felt couped up over the last week.  I think the dogs even enjoyed being able to run around, although they do love the snow, they roll around and push their noses in the deeper parts.

I have nearly completed my hand delivered Christmas cards and the posted ones, although not many this year, have all been despatched. So I am feeling good, was getting a bit fed up with Christmas cards so am looking forward to some new ventures in the New Year.  I have pick up lots of hints and tips from all you talented ladies so hopefully I will be able to put them to good use later.  There are so many projects I want to try that I do not know where to start.  This card received its inspiration from  Wendy at Confessions of a Papersniffer, when I saw a card she made I decided to adopt her background layout, so thanks Wendy for giving me this idea.

Ingredients

8x8 card
Kraft card, red and green card from stock
Papermania Home for Christmas paper pack
Spellbinders Grand  Labels One
Spellbinders Poinsettia
LOTV die cut topper (already coloured)
Glitter - Diamond Sparkles
Sentiment and germs from stock

I just love LOTV toppers but next year will buy some stamps and attempt to colour them myself, another project to try.  I hope you ladies will understand when I borrow your ideas that I find them so beautiful and need to try out your designs.  I believe that's what crafting is all about, passing on knowledge, and I am like a sponge these days.  Sometimes I amaze myself by creating something I am proud of, I sit back and say "well I did not know you had it in you".

Well dinner calls, hubby has done a Sunday roast with all the trimmings so I am looking forward to it very much.  After we have eaten it will be either clearing up and dishes or walking the dogs, either or I am not fussy, but I will have to wait and see what hubby wants to do. He cannot make his mind up the lesser of the two evils.

Oh I have just noticed I have a new follower, Christine Emberson, no less, welcome to my humble blog.  Christine featured my dogs today in her Pet Gallery on her blog http://hope-chances.blogspot.co.uk/ and if you ever need inspiration you should visit her.

Well ladies wrap up warm and take care.

Different Christmas Cards

What weather, we had a bit more snow last night, but on top of snow, ice, more snow, more ice, more snow the pavements are like ice rinks.  We don't have a lot of snow but with it falling overnight its just freezing over.  I don't mind snow on it's own, I love to see a fresh blanket of snow in the morning when you first go out and leave your footprints behind, there is a lovely clean feel about the air but rain and ice you can keep it.

I thought I would do something different for my sister to give to her grandchildren as regards a Christmas card, she has a step-son who has four children and a step-daughter who has one child.  So this is what I came up with, sorry about the photography but unless you are a professional I doubt if we mortals can achieve a decent picture.

The two cards

A close up of one of the Baubles

And another

The top row of the first photo is for Airlie and the lower row is for Daisy, Rosie, Heidi and Ross (who are twins).

Ingredients

Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, Labels Twenty
Cricut Mini for Santa and Sleigh
Kraft Card and Red card from stock
Home for Christmas paper and twine from Papermainia
Various peel offs (letters, sentiments and snowflakes) for a bit of bling from stock

My sister is picking them up at lunch time so I hope she likes them.  No doubt I will know right away because she tells you as it is no beating about the bush with her.

Nearly walkies time again so I am off to wrap up for my foray outside to face the elements.

Take care ladies and wrap up warm.

Card for my Crafty Friend

Hi all more snow to night, not too much but enough to make life difficult, how I hate winter.  Hope the snow stays off till after nine o'clock because I will have walked the dogs and settled down with a cuppa.

The Blog Candy I received from Sue at Planet Susie was amazing. and I told her I felt guilty accepting all the goodies especially as I did not do anything to warrant it, but she was pleased someone who commented on her blog regularly won. Still it was amazing, thank you Sue.

I have not been making many cards recently a lot going on and I have been falling asleep after dinner every night.  I just get sitting down after doing the dishes and bang my eyes are closed.  Had forty winks tonight and then pulled myself upstairs to the PC to have a browse round your posts.

The card I have tonight was one I made for my young crafty friend Alisha who accompanies my to craft shows.  She loves Tatty Ted and the colour purple so I made this to please her, it was her 10th birthday.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
yellow and gold glitter card from stock
Spellbinders Labels Twenty
Tatty Ted topper, letter and embellishments from Docrafts
Ribbon from stock

Very simple card but sometimes I believe less is more, I forgot to photograph the inside but it on the same theme.  She was delighted with it.  I gave her an Advent Frame as a present so am waiting to here from her on how she liked it.  I have had some feedback on the frames from others who purchased them and they all loved them.  As is normal as soon as you sell out someone else wants one but unfortunately its too late to make more.  Next year I don't know if I will sell them filled as its so difficult to get items to fit in the boxes but I amazed myself by filling 25 boxes with two lots of toys and sweets for twin girls.

Well its time for walkies so here I go to don my walking gear.  Luckily the dog usually don't want to go far at this time of night but it will just be my luck that they fancy a walk in the snow.

Take care ladies and wrap up warm.

Gift Bags and Cards

I have been missing in action once more, just don't know where the time goes these days.  My mother is going to her Little Bingo Club Christmas Party tomorrow and we were trying to think of something different to put in as a raffle prize, they all take one, and it is not the first time she has drawn her own number and had to return her raffle and draw again.  I though why not make up a collection of cards male, female, kids, Christmas and a few gift bags.  Here are the gift bags

The girl above with the candle is LOTV die cut and I have described the ingredients in a previous post.

The gift bag ingredients

Big Bag
Red plain paper bag from Tesco
Papermania Home for Christmas paper
Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 double sided cardstock for poinsettia
Spellbinders Labels twenty
Spellbinders poinsettia
Red card from stash
Forever Friends image from Timeless Cardstock Stickers
Gold leaves, peel off, gem from stash

Small Bag
Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 double sided cardstock
Forever Friends sentiment from Timeless Cardstock Stickers
 Red Ribbon from Hobbycrafts

And there you go simple, energy conscious, and made in minutes, just how I like things done.

I wrapped all the cards before I though of taking a photo so you will just have to use your imagination, they are a collection of ones previously posted.

I have completed all the cards and gift boxes (my sister asked for a batch of both the gift bags above so they were nearly all the same with little variations) as usual they were last minute requests from her and were whisked away pronto.

I don't know is you know it but Hazel, Patricia's sister, who comments on most of our Blogs is quite a talented crafter as well as her sister.  Not card making but scrapbooking, and she makes the most wonderful gifts as well,  She showed me some photos when we met up in Perth the other week and they were superb.  I wonder if Patricia could borrow the photos and post them on her Blog, that is until Hazel get up and running with her own Blog.

Boy, waffled on a bit there, but is seems I have been absent for an age.  I have been browsing all your wonderful work and have picked up loads of hints and tips I am eager to try. In fact I am impatient I want to try everything. The Faux Book Box Christine http://christinescardsandcrafts.blogspot.com made is top of my list, the origami box Patricia http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk made, and lots of other things to try.  I also am trying to fit in time to use my Cricut Mini properly.  Could not sleep this morning, up at 0430, opened up the Cricut Craft Room and had a wee play, not cutting anything out yet but trying to weld words and resizing images.  There is a lot it can do it just having time to play.

OK them my ramblings are over it's time to browse.  I eagerly await all your wonderful comments and hopefully I will have more to show tomorrow as all the pressure is off for being at everyone's beck and call and tomorrow is all mine.

I forgot to say we had snow last night, it rained first them down came the snow just in time for the big switch on of the Village Christmas Tree Lights which went ahead anyway the hall for the kids treats is right next to where the Christmas Tree stands so I think after the switch on they went inside.  Needless to say I did not venture out to see it, stayed tucked up inside till 2100 to take the dos for their last walk.  This morning was treacherous, thick ice on roads and pavements making it dangerous to walk but I took them out and walked to the paper shop and back without incident.

Take care and wrap up warm.

40th Birthday Card

Hi all, I felt really lucky yesterday, firstly my name was pulled to receive Velcro from Christine Emberson's  blog http://hope-chances.blogspot.co.uk, then I won blog candy at Planet Susie http://susiesplanet.blogspot.co.uk, oh how lucky can one get. I immediately went on to buy some euro millions tickets in case it was "three in a row", have not checked them yet, feel I am being greedy or chancing my luck.  Oh,  I checked my Euromillions and won £2.90. ah well at least I won.

Yesterday I had a surprise day babysitting, young William had been up all night and his mum Emma was exhausted so Auntie Wilma took over so she could catch up on her sleep. I ended up having him all day and being only 7 weeks old he was a joy to look after. How could I forget that little boys are a danger when they have no nappy on, I left his nappy open while I fed him and suddenly felt my lap getting wet, oh the joys of babies, but I loved every minute of it. Every time he stirred in his pram my two dogs went over to stand guard, they were intrigued by him. As a result the 40th birthday card I was due to make had to be put on hold until today

(A few hours later) ......Fortieth Birthday card done and dusted and a couple of other projects, to be revealed later.

Black and Cream with a touch of Red

My delivery of Labels Twenty and stamps arrived yesterday (thank you Oyster Stamps http://www.oysterstamps.co.uk/ for processing my order so quickly) and my fingers were itching to play. Luckily someone wanted a black and cream card not too fussy and to be posted so no high decoupage, so on went the thinking cap. The other die I used, Persian Accents, is another one I just adore, and Memory Box Dancing Tulips, was a new one I bought at the SECC and had not used.  Dancing Tulips is so delicate you have to be really careful placing it on your card.

Where oh where has all this rain come from. Soaked twice today walking the dogs, although as it was raining it was a case of dragging them round till they did their business, and quickly back home.  They hate the rain but love the snow.  They come in after being out in the snow covered in little snowballs and I have to use the hairdryer to melt them, the snowballs not the dogs. What they like the most is a cold frosty morning, get off the lead and let loose to run on the grass.

This is photograph of them sitting on their towels waiting to get dried after being out.  Mei Li is the black one and Shaolin is the beige one.  They are very good, as soon as we come in from a walk they go directly to their towels to get rubbed down.

Now my card

Ingredients

8 x 8 card
Creative Expressions Foundation card in Milk and Black
Spellbinders Persian Accents
Spellbinders Labels Twenty
Spellbinders Lattice
Memory Box Dancing Tulips
Justrite Stamps
Cosmic Shimmer Black PVA glue
Ribbon and pearls from stash

As usual ladies I eagerly await your comments as I enjoy reading them and also browsing your blogs to see what amazing creations you come up with. I love seeing what my followers create and then its interesting to look at what their followers post. As a result I am spend an age browsing.

Take care and wrap up warm.

Oh it must be close to Christmas

It's so lovely reading all your comments and seeing all the beautiful cards posted on your Blogs.  The book posted by Christine today was really wonderful and the rose Patricia made for the top of her box was so real looking I felt you could touch the raindrop on it's petals. Oh there are so many people to congratulate for posting their gorgeous creations that it would take up all my crafting time.

Boy am I glad I don't live in a flood plain, it would be horrifying to find your house full of dirty foul water.  I feel for the people affected by this weather. It has rained non stop today, I expect most of you have had the same, and hope it will let up soon.  Me and the dogs have been soaked twice today, they refused to go far at lunchtime, a quick wee and in, which suited me fine.

My card today is another Christmas one

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Red Card from stash
Background paper - Papermaina Home for Christmas as is the twine
Spellbinder 2011 Heirloom Ornaments
Spellbinder Poinsettia

As is norm for me I eagerly await seeing you comments on my card for today.

Away from Christmas Card

It's so nice browsing through all the blogs and finding such beautiful cards, there are so many talented bloggers out there that I am spending a lot of time just browsing and commenting.  This blogging is getting addictive, any spare minute and my hand reach for my IPad to play as a result my cardmaking is suffering. So now I am limiting myself to one hour each day to blog, lets see how long that lasts.

While browsing I downloaded a few digi sentiments which I played around with yesterday and hopefully will be using soon. I am terrible I see something and I want to try it, not later, NOW, and end up trying it out for ages.

I picked a card inspired by Julia Watts blog http://Inkyfingerzone.co.uk and it was so easy to do, although I did not have exact die I improvised and loved making it. I am waiting delivery of some dies to attempt a card from the Creative Expressions Project Book.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Burgundy and white card from my collection
Embossing Folder - Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Garden Lattice A4
Cosmic Shimmer Mica Flakes - Luna Silver for round the edge of card
Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles, Persian Motifs, Bauble Blossoms Two (for flowers)
 LOTV Happy Birthday Sentiment stamp
Creative Expressions Burgundy Ribbon and Dazzlers
Distressed Ink and pearls.

Well as is said that's all for now folks. I wait with baited breath for all your comments.  I often wish  bloggers who view the cards would leave a wee comment instead of just looking, it makes me wonder what they think.

Take care and wrap up warm.

Christmas Once Again

Hi ladies, what a productive day I have had today, three cards made, which for me is amazing.  No, you are only getting them one at a time in case my run runs dry.  Its has been really miserable outside today, first thing this morning when I took the dogs out it was dull but dry and reasonably mild. I did my housework took the dogs out again at lunchtime and it was drizzling rain and getting colder, and tonight its not much better, the dogs did not want to venture far so that suited me fine.

This card is one made from odd bits from my boxes except for the image that is LOTV, Poinsettia and Marvellous Square from Spellbinders.  The pink paper is handmade paper I got in a pressie last year and I thought I would finally give it a try.  The card is either Hunkydory or Kanban or then again maybe not.  Well here it is.

I love using non traditional colours for Christmas but I also like the traditional ones too.  I think I may go back and sparkle the fur round her hood but there again it looks fine, leave it alone Wilma you will end up doing too much.  Sorry the photo is not quite right but it's difficult to get a decent photo these dull days and the flash distorts it a bit.

As usual I eagerly await your comments and now I am off to browse your wonderful creations. Oh by the way I received my copy of Creative Expressions Project Book, there are some beautiful projects in it so I am eager to get trying some out,  I have ordered Labels 20 and the Justrite stamp so when they arrive I will get started.

Take care ladies, wrap up warm.

Twins Birthday

How I just love reading all the comments on my blog and then to browse around seeing all the gorgeous cards posted by you lovely ladies. Boy there is some wonderful creations out there.  There is so much I want to try but finding the time is the biggest drawback, but I will get there eventually.

Just back from walking the dogs, last one then bed for them, and boy is it cold out there, just starting to rain too.  I don't mind walking them but I hate the rain, icy cold is OK but rain I hate it and so do they. They are good though as soon as they come in I have their towels laid out and they lie down waiting to get dried, quick biscuit and right to bed. It's like having kids again.

My card tonight is one my sister asked for, she has twin grandchildren, Heidi and Ross, who are two, adorable kids and I found LOTV have two die cuts which are them to a tee,  Heidi loves to dance and Ross loves being a cowboy. So here it is.

Ingredients

White Card from stock cut into easel style
Gingham Paper - Forever Friends New Arrival 12" x 12" paper pad
LOTV Die Cut Images
Spellbinders Labels One
Sentiment produce on PC
Embellishments,  pearls, corners and names from stash

I felt I could have added more to it but my sister loved it as it was, not too fussy were her words. Sorry the photograph is poor but trying to get the light right and not get glare from flash is quite difficult these days. but I hope you can see enough to make a comment.

Well ladies bedtime calls as usual I eagerly await you comments good or bad, everyone is is read and digested.

Have a good Monday.

Oh No Five Oh

Where oh where does the time go these days. I used to make a card or two each day but now I just don't have time to sit and do what I like best very often.  My sister asked me to make a card for her friend who is 50 today and they are having a party tonight.  I sat and pondered and cut this out and something else and just could not find a direction to go to.  Eventually something fell into place, I was dying to use the LOTV die cuts again especially the Geisha one so that is what I chose.

My friend Susan, who is a Radio Operator on the Oil Rigs, is just home from the Congo and asked me to keep her an Advent Frame for her twin step-granddaughters and she is coming to pick it up Saturday afternoon.  We won't have much time to chat as Susan lives in Spain and is only on a flying visit to see her mum and the rest of the family.  I am used to this as Susan is always on the go and caring for everyone. She is one of the nicest people I know and I have loved having her as a friend even though we don't see much of one another we can just get together and continue where we left off no matter how long it has been since we last saw one another.  I seem to be surrounding myself with nice people just now, I met up with Patricia and Hazel and we got on like a house on fire and now Susan is visiting thing are looking up.

My card for today

Ingredients

Well all the card, pearls. baby's breath and ribbon were from my stash have no idea where they came from, I think the green and pink was a batch I bought from Create and Craft
Image of course Lili of the Valley die cut
Embossing Folder - Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Garden Lattice A4
Creative Expressions Dazzler
Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Spun Sugar) to ink dies
Sentiment from PC
After photo was taken I noticed a pearl had fallen off so that was reattached.

Now the box

The same applies here everything was in my stash and the sentiment was produced on the PC

Now guess what I have been playing with this evening.  I despaired that I could not make roses that were up to Patricia's standard (http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk) and low and behold she produces a tutorial which I followed and now I can make roses.  So a big thank you Patricia.

Pretty good eh.

Well as usual ladies I eagerly await your kind comments, there never seem to be any negative comments, maybe we are all very good at crafting.  I for one. being relatively new to this, would appreciate any comments good or bad as this will help me become better at card making.

Oh nearly forgot welcome to my new followers, Viv and Annie, I never would have believed that so many lovely crafters would be interested in my creations, so thank you all.

Take care.

Sitting by the fireplace

Another busy day, don't know how I worked full time and run a house, now I am retired there never seems to be enough hours in the day.  Maybe I was more organised and had to do things straight away but these days I seem to think about something then put it off for a while then before you know it it's time for something else to be done.  I am meeting up with Patricia http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk and her sister Hazel tomorrow in Perth for a coffee and chat.  I am so looking forward to seeing them as I would love to pick Patricia's brains on how she produces such wonderful roses and of course her cards and Hazel pops up on our blogs now and then with her lovely comments on our achievements.

This card uses another Lili of the Valley images (I purchased a few at the SECC and have since ordered more online) bet you are all getting fed up seeing these images but they are so sweet.  I use the die cuts as my attempts at colouring them has not been too successful but I will persevere, I ain't no artist but enjoy cardmaking.  I feel the poinsettias are a bit heavy for this card, they are cut out of felt and maybe paper would have been better. What do you think ladies?

Ingredients

8 x 8 white Card
Backing paper Papermania Home for Christmas 12 x 12 paper pack
Red and Gold Card for stock
Lili of the Valley image with a bit of glitter (although you cannot see this in photo)
Red and Green Felt from www.myriadonline.co.uk
Spellbinders Labels One
Spellbinders Poinsettia
Twine from Papermania Home for Christmas
Sentiment and gems from stash

Once again I eagerly await your comments am off now to have a browse around as in the morning it's just a quickie and I love to see your creations in more depth at night.

Christmas for Teddy and Penguin

Well roast dinner was delicious, always is when hubby cooks Sunday dinner. I am even getting off with the dishes tonight, although I have to walk the dogs. Hubby usually walks them before dinner through the week but on a Sunday things change they get walked after dinner, maybe because we have dinner earlier.  Boy I am rabbiting on here.

My card is another Christmas one which I have enjoyed making this morning especially as I am using a die cut from LOTV (Lili of the Valley for those uninitiated crafters, I only discovered them recently).  Their stamps (which I am not confident in using yet) and die cuts are really gorgeous.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Background Papermania Christmas Tidings A4 paper pack
Red and Gold card from stash
LOTV die cut image
Spellbinders Grand Labels One and Labels One
Sentiment, ribbon, glitter and corners from stash

As usual I eagerly await your comments as they mean so much to me.

Take care and wrap up warm.

A Day at the Oscars (well not quite!!)

Bet you are wondering what the title means. Well Flora aka  Crafty Lark sent me this

and now I have to pass it on to another five worthy crafters with the following proviso:

Thank you Flora for thinking of me.  I just love the way all crafters come together and give advice and lovely comments on the work we display.  I am relatively new to card making and blogging so every piece of encouragement/advice I receive makes me feel I am getting somewhere with my card making.

Boy this is going on a bit, have to go for dinner but will post my card of today later.

I'm Back (was I missed? probably not)

It feels like an age since I last posted a card but this week has been a round of Doctors, Nurses, Social Events, not for me but my mother who is 86 year old and cannot get around very well and needs my services as nurse, cook, taxi driver etc. not that I mind but this week everything came at once.  Hopefully this weekend I can play more with my recent purchases.  I was watching Create and Craft one morning and said to my hubby that the Cricut Mini would be a good buy and low and behold what arrived on Friday a Cricut Mini.  It's an early Christmas Present from him, he did it all himself.  Yesterday afternoon was spent setting it up (not that it took long), downloading the Cricut Craft Room software and fiddling about a bit and wallah there was my first cut out.  This will help me with my matting and layering as well as I just cannot cut a straight line as is evident on some of my cards.  Having the facility to type what you need and weld it together in any size (limited by A4) is super.  I have a 40th birthday card to do in a week or so so this is going to be ideal to cut out 40 and Claire the recipients name. Oh I am a happy person and what a lovely hubby.

Welcome to my new followers, who would have believed I would have so many in such a short time.

I have managed to produce two cards this week and here is No1

A4 white card folded in half
Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles
Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia
Blue and Spotted cardstock from Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 Double Sided
White glittered card for Poinsettia

As usual ladies I eagerly await your comments, I just love logging on and seeing all your posts and reading your comments.  I am sorry this photograph is not perfect but I took it this morning when the sun was shining and it seems to have cast a shadow, but at least we had some sunshine. I shall leave the second card for tomorrow in case I get carried away playing and am not able to produce a finished card.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Christmas is Coming!!

As if we need reminding that Santa is on his way, no matter how organised we are is still comes round too quickly.  I am one of those last minute shoppers as I can never decide what to get anyone.  People who can start Christmas Shopping really early and have it all wrapped up in October, I have a friend who is this organised, are very lucky. I shall be running around at the last minute as usual, although as a family we have cut back drastically this year and only the children are getting presents, no adults as it is getting more and more difficult to find any inexpensive appropriate gifts as money is getting tight for everyone.

On a lighter note here is a Christmas card I made to cheer myself up all christmassy red and carol singers.

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Backing paper Forever Friends Gift Wrapped A4 Double sided Cardstock
Spellbinders Grand Labels One
LOTV die cut carol singers image
Spellbinders Poinsettia die
White Glitter card (for poinsettias), sentiment, gems and glitter from stash

A nice simple card but very effective.  It is one I have been asked to make for a few people so I must have got something right.

As usual I eagerly await your comments, and am off now for a quick browse around to see what gems you ladies have come up with today.

Take care.

Mojo is back

I have had a productive day today, been playing with some of my stash I bought last week and boy have I enjoyed myself.  I just adore the Lili of the Valley images and got quite carried away making cards with them.

Today I have borrowed Patricia's  www.patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk bag idea, after reading her tutorial I though it would be a shame not to give it a try, after all she must have put a lot of work into producing the photographs and placing everything in the right order and writing her instructions, a job well done and well worth the effort. I for one enjoyed reading the tutorial and following the instructions.  I made a card to accompany the gift bag.  When I cut the handle in the bag I went wrong as I have not got the plain circle die and tried to cut it with a craft knife but it did not work out so I made the semi circle a rectangle but you don't have to copy everything exactly.

Here is my effort

Ingredients

For the card

6 x 6 white card
Backing paper - Love Tokens from Helen Jones Designs 12" x 12" double sided paper pad
I used both the printed and plain side
LOTV die cut image
Spellbinders Labels One
Spellbinders Floral Tags for sentiment inked with Tim Holtz Dusty Concord Distress Ink
Sentiment stamp from Creative Expressions - Winter Greetings set
Gems, flowers and leaves from stash
I glitter round hat and scarf with glue pen and Diamond Sparkles Angels Kisses

Gift Bag
Same as above but using Grand Labels One for bag
and rose from Floral Tags and some ribbon.

Feeling good now I have got a few cards under my belt today and really enjoyed playing.  The dogs were a bit upset that I was not giving them much attention as I was engrossed in my crafting and they kept nudging my leg to get me to play and I had to give in a couple of times.

Well ladies as usual I eagerly await your comments and look forward to tomorrow to have my browse around all your lovely posts.

Take care.

Thank You

Now that I have come back to earth after reading all your lovely comments on my last post I have found a card I have not shown before. Will have to get my finger out now and make some new cards. I bought a few items at SECC Glasgow and want to play especially the LOTV die cuts, they are so pretty.

I have had a lazy day, well just a bit of shopping, visit from my sister with her great grandson, William, took the dogs for early morning walk and then at lunch time, so it's not been too lazy.

Here is the card.

Ingredients

A5 Card
Papers downloaded freebies from Jak Heath Designs www.jakheath.com
Spellbinders Floral ovals
Ribbon and Gems from stash
Sentiment from PC

Simple sweet and to the point. I suppose I should have added a flower or two but as it was being sent through the post I though I'd better not.

Jak Heath is on Create and Craft TV with  Pick of the Week Shows they started on Friday afternoon.

I really need to get crafting again I have people asking for cards I must get my finger out.  They all seem to want the ones I have made already but I like to try something new but I suppose I will have to keep my friends happy.

As usual I eagerly await your comments and hope to show something more adventurous tomorrow.

Take care.

It's a Girl Again

Well here goes again another girl card, it's all boys in our family, want a pink fluffy thing to buy for. Its horrid at night trying to get a decent photograph because the flash tends to distort the colours.  I was meant to make this for my sister to give to her friend's daughter by yesterday but better late than never,  It is now ready for her.

I don't know if it's the clocks going back or the weather but I cannot drum up any enthusiasm for anything these days, feel tired all the time.  Maybe I am coming down with something will have to wait and see or am I suffering from SAD?

Hope all you ladies are keeping well, I so love to read your comments and see all the cards you post.  I have been introduced to many other sites through reading your blogs and found digi images, never heard of them before now I can't get enough and free downloads of papers, etc.  Never had so many papers. I must have been a dinosaur or head in the sand as my world has been opened up, so much so that my hubby is complaining that I am never off the IPad or PC, saying "I much have that, or "never knew you could do that" etc.  So I must say thank you very much for opening up my horizons.

Now for the card

Ingredients

8 x 8 white card
Forever Friends New Arrival 12" x 12" paper pad
Heartwarmers Die cut Topper
Pink Ribbon, gems and other sentiments from stash

Well fellow bloggers your comments will be eagerly awaited and hopefully I can get back to making more cards to keep up with the excellent cards being produced by you all.

Take care, and wrap up warn.
