60th Wedding Anniversary Card

Thank you all for your comments on my last post (sounds a bit off that) I will rephrase that, my last card,  I so love it that you have taken the time to view and comment.  Every day after I post my hubby will say "well how many comments today then" and I am so proud to tell him how many.

Today is one of my 60th Wedding Anniversary cards,  this one is for a named couple and I really  like how it has turned out.  Hope you are not fed up seeing standard fancy cards.

card and box

Card for Gwen and Tom

Shaped card and box from Stella crafts
Peach and Ivory Card from my stock
Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles One, Floral Ovals and
 Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters
I typed sentiment on PC
Pearls, ribbon and Dazzler from stash
Bit of Glitter on Leaves to jazz it up a bit.

When I was getting it ready for posting I added another Aster to the left hand side of the box because I thought it looked a bit bare, too late to photograph it as the light has gone.  It is now completed to my satisfaction and I hope my brother in law likes it.  I have added three different verses for him to choose one and he can adhere it to the inside with the double sided tape I have attached.

Well that's it for tonight, have to tidy up and have a coffee or maybe a wee glass of wine and think about getting more Christmas cards started or it will be on us before we know it.

Once again thank you for your wonderful comments, they are much appreciated.

Take care out there.

Where does all the time go?

WOW look at my followers, I have finally reached 50 followers and thank you Lydia for joining my happy crafty bunch of mates.  You are so welcome and I hope you enjoy the little gems I create. Well they are gems to me as I never believed I could make cards and it is only with the help and guidance of my fellow bloggers that I am able to do so.  So thank you one and all

Goodness had a bit of a rush this week, seems everyone wanted a card, like today!  My brother-in-law phoned from Billingham, could I make two 60th Wedding Anniversary cards, fancy (his words) and in a box.  Well the brain went into overdrive and I decided to use my usual trusted designs that went down well for Mother's Day as I do not know the recipients and have no idea what they would like.

My sister asked for two Baby Boy cards for her and a friend and two Baby Girl cards for one of her clients.  Luckily I had some baby cards prepared (I previously posted them) and only had to finish them off and make boxes for them.  My sister is the type to say if she does not like a card and I always have a bit of trepidation making cards for her, she is my younger sister but she intimidates me at times. I never feel the need to antagonise people, quiet life for me, but she really tries me at times.  Thank goodness they were up to her expectations.  I often wonder if she thinks I can pull a rabbit out of a hat as she never gives much notice of her needs/wants.

My neighbour Laura, has a lovey daughter named Katie, and ages ago she asked if I could show her how to make gift bags and cards.  As I had all my crafting goodies out I invited her over on Thursday evening to have a girly night crafting.  She grasped thing quite quickly and as we were in a bit of a rush I cut everything out and she stuck it together but I explained each step to her along the way.  She made a gift bag and a card and guess what I forgot to take a photograph of her with her makes but will get her back tomorrow with them and will post a photo soon.

I also made another card, which has no sentiment on it yet as I will wait to seen if anyone wants it and then it can be personalised or use it myself later.

8 x 8 white card fold for an easel card
Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles One
Heartfelt Creations  Decorative Butterfly Corner (the larger of the two)
Card and backing paper from stash
Flowers from local craft store
Pearls, ribbon and heard from stash

I am now searching for verses for the Wedding Anniversary cards, any suggestions as to where I can find appropriate verses online.   I like to give a few choices so I tend to prepare a few for each card and use either sticky pads or tape on the back and leave it to the person who orders the cards to choose what one is most appropriate.  I know time consuming but I like to give people choices.

Lana, the bride to be, just called in to say she loved her heart gift and it is proudly displayed.  Friday is Wedding Day and I am so looking forward to the evening reception as she, her sister and friends are a ball of fire to be with.  There is so much planned to happen on the night that I think we will all have a great time.  The Candy Cart (sorry spelt it wrong before) is complete although I have not seen the finished article yet I will make sure I photograph it and post it here for you all to see.

Rambling again, but this is the first time I have been able to sit and type on the PC,  IPad is OK for little bits but as I am a touch typist I find is hard using a fiddly little keypad.  The youngster can rattle text messages off at a tremendous rate but I get on better using a bigger keyboard.  I promise to comment on more blogs over the next few days and I feel you all take the time to comment on my blog I should return the favour and do more..

Take care out there.

Wedding Gift

I seem to have been stuck on 49 followers for such a long time would love it to read 50 sometime soon, but beggars cannot be choosers as they say.  I see from looking at how many people view and how many comment that there is a bit discrepancy but it would be nice if everyone who viewed/commented could maybe become a follower.  Ah well such is life.

I said I would try to come up with something different to present my money gift to Lana and Scott and this is what I came up with.  I know Lana's colours for the wedding are Ivory and Pink so that is what I chose to do this heart in

The heart I bought at Dobbies Garden Centre
The Gardenia flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts http://www.wildorchidcrafts.com/
The pink card for the butterflies, and ribbon and pearls from my stash.
Martha Stewart wrapper to enclose money wallet which I made from some pink card
Sentiment from Kanban.

I made a card but forgot to photograph it whoops, head in the clouds.

Don't know if that sentiment is right or not will have to think about that.  I have straightened the bottom heart as it was at an angle when I photographed this.  Something different I suppose, I hate just handing over a money gift wallet.

The Candy Kart is just about completed, Lana's dad has added the material to the roof and I have given him the letters I cut out on my Cricut Mini to add to the scalloped edge.  I was going to assist but his two daughter have volunteered to do it so better for me that they do.  I will photograph it when complete.

Well I have been out and in with the little bit of washing to did today, one minute it is fine and sunny then along comes a squally shower and in they come again.  This last time they are in for good and will finish off drying them on the clothes dryer.  I am having a lazy day today, what's that I hear my hubby saying, I have one every day, well that is the joys of being retired, everything can be done in slow time if I want.  We are even eating out so no preparing a meal and washing dishes, oh this is the life.

Well ladies and gents, that's it for now, just leaves me to say take care out there and hope to hear from you all soon.

Little Green Box Card

After all the gremlins the other day I hope I have finally got my blog back to normal.  I just cannot fathom what went wrong but my text was all over the place.  Sorry if it put any of you off commenting but for those who did I much appreciate you taking the time so view and comment.

Today is in the same vein as the Christmas card but is a Birthday one.

8 x 8 scalloped card
Spotty card and green is a pack from Papermania
White Centura Pearl Card
Green Stripped Paper is a free download from Jak Heath http://www.jakheath.com/
Spellbinders Rose Creations Die and Foliage Die
Ribbon and pearls from stash

Hopefully all is well when I post this.

I had a look at the Candy Kart for Lana's wedding and we have come up with a couple of ideas on how to add the couples names.  I have cut out all the letters and hearts, using my Cricut Mini, in a variety of sizes, to see what fits best. I must say Lana's dad has done a great job on the Kart and I suggested he hire it out after Lana's wedding.

Well here goes everything crossed, thank you for your patience.

More for the girls

Hello to you all,  my we have a nice day here sunshine, blue skies anyone would think it is summer.  Took my plaques to the club the other night and got some favourable comments, no sale, but it was very  quiet, a lot of people on holiday yet.  We will have to wait and see if they take off.

Not the best photo but you can see what they are.
Chalkboard from eBay, twine and ribbon and card from stash.

Now I really must get serious about making cards. My stocks are very low and Christmas is fast approaching.

I also have a project to do for a couple who have been together for 19 years, they have 3 boys and 1 girl, and have decided to tie the knot.  They don't want presents but say money would be gratefully received to take them all on a family holiday after the wedding.  I didn't want to just hand them a wallet with cash, I want to present it differently and have an idea in mind.

Last year the couple entered a Radio Forth "win a wedding package".  Whoever raised the most cash for charity would win the package.  On the day Scott and Lana were in the lead, raising over £13,000.00 but the couple who won added more of their own money, which was allowed, to win the prize.  The couple who won were unable to use the honeymoon part of the prize and offered it to Scott and Lana  who gratefully accepted it and had an early cruising honeymoon last November. They are a lovely couple and deserve the best as they have had to overcome some hardships in their time together.  My hubby and I are invited to the evening reception and this is the invitation we received.  It was designed by the kids.

I hope you can read it OK because I think it is so lovely.  They are proud parents.

That is it for tonight, take care you lovely people.

Feeling Blue?

Good afternoon to you all, I seem to running round in circles these days not a lot of cards being produced but I am busy making plaques.  After the "Slimmer of he Month" plaques were presented some girls asked about making some to record their weekly loss so that is what I have been working on this past week.  Pictures will be posted soon.

I did make a card using Grand Labels Four die I just bought and love the style of them.  The card is a gorgeous shade of blue.

Blue card from Hobbycraft
White card Centura Pearl
Spellbinders Aster flower die and Grand Labels Four
M-bossibility Garden Lattice embossing folder
Pearls from stash
Peel off from stash

I have not added a sentiment yet will do that when I decide what to use it for.  I have made a start on my first Christmas card by cutting out some Christmas dies and pulling all elements together but it does feel funny making cards this early (early for me but needs must as I was caught out last year).  I know some of you ladies and gents are way ahead of me and have shown some beautiful Christmas cards.

I hope you are all in the "pink" as I am feeling not too bad these days.  No aches but still trying to loose some more weight, it is a struggle especially when you like the wrong foods for a healthy lifestyle but tonight is weigh in and I don't expect to see any loss as I have not been good.  I enjoy my wee night out with the girls, we chat, laugh and put the world to right.

Take care out there.

Bags for plaques

WOW I felt so surprised when so many of you lovely people decided to comment on my last couple of posts.  I am very grateful you took the time to make such lovely comments especially since I had been absent for a while. The birthday wishes were wonderful as well.

I felt the plaques I made need a bag so it was more of a surprise when the winners received them, so this is what I came up with.

The card is from my stash and the flowers are Spellbinders Asters.
Easy peasy to make the bags just two pieces for back and front whatever size you need.  A strip 3" wide scored 1/2" at each long side and folded (I needed two as the bags measure 12" x 8").  Then glue it round and cut a hole for hand grip. Said it was easy.

I had a lovely day yesterday. My sister came round with her grandchildren and great grandchild with a birthday cake with a candle for me to blow out and make a wish and we had fun scoffing cake and pop and playing games, my ideal birthday Day.

Well as Bugs Bunny says "That's all Folks", have a great day today, we have sunshine but cool.

Thanks for all your comments

Well it is nice to be back in the fold, I have missed posting and making cards.  Your comments have inspired me to get back on track and I have worked hard today to make something new and not a card.  Wendy http://spanishcrafter.blogspot.co.uk/ gave me an idea with her plaques for her slimming group. I attend a group as well and was telling Nicola our consultant about them when out of the blue she ask if I could do something for Wednesday, that is the night the Slimmer of the Month is announced (not me), and she wanted to present the winners with a little something.  She holds two groups on a Wednesday and Thursday so four plaques were required. Had a look on the Internet to see what was on offer to give me inspiration and this is what I came up with, with items I had to hand.

Card from Creative Expressions
Spellbinders Grand Labels One die
Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Lg die
Xcut die (can't find the name) for weight record
Creative Expression Twine
Had some blackboard coasters so used them
Chalk tied with twine and fixed with Scotch Fasteners
Butterflies are punched

I made them all the same as there was not much time to get things together to make the plaques.  It is amazing what you can find when you search around.  I don't know where the coasters came from but I had to purchase the chalk, every thing else was around the house.  After browsing the Internet I have picked up some ideas if anyone shows an interest in purchasing a plaque to record their weight loss so another project on hold to see if there is any comers. I enjoy projects but  now must get down to card making for a wee while.

The weather here today has been miserable, heavy rain all day but luckily it cleared away late afternoon when it was my turn to walk the dogs.  Hubby did the dishes and I walked the dog, I got the better deal I think.

It's my birthday (Oh no not 65) on Tuesday and hubby bought me a new PC running Windows 8, whole new ball game to me but I am trying, some say very trying. LOL. I am having difficulty downloading my photographs but will give anything a try to get what I need.  I will have to invite my niece along to give me some instructions, or even the boy next door who is constantly giving me hints on my IPad.  The youngsters are all up to date on this technology so some brains will be picked.

That's it for now, only I forgot to give an update on my mum, she is doing well spend the first week with us at the caravan and managed very well but the second week was great for me as my sister came and took my mum home with her and gave us a much needed break.

Take care.

Gift Bag

Hello, it feels like ages, and certainly has been, since I last posted.  Been on holiday and this weather has made me get outdoors and do more outside.  We had an enjoyable time in the caravan but with it being so hot we could not travel far in the car because the dogs panted and refused to walk until the cool of the evening or early morning.  Good job I am an early bird or they would not have been walked very far.  While on one caravan site we met a lovely couple with twin boys aged six, Robert and Duncan, and Hannah their five year old sister.  They were from Spean Bridge and were a delightful family. The children visited the dogs each day and when they came back from their outings their first port of call was to tell me all about their day and spoil the dogs.  I really enjoyed meeting them and was sad when they left.

But back to normality now and my friend loved the wedding day card and her granddaughters birthday card.  I was in such a rush to make the 18th birthday card for her that I forgot to photograph it.  Another friend ask me to make a big gift bag for her friend's birthday and this is what I came up with.  Had to really push myself to get back into crafting but this is what I came up with, so loved it. When I buy dies I usually play about with them using different papers and this is what I used to produce this bag

The bag measures 13" x 10" but cannot remember where I bought it Hobbycraft  I think.
the card was used from my stash when I tried the dies
Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One
Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Die
Spellbinders Banner (can't recall the proper name)
Peel off sentiment

So maybe this is the push I need to get started back into crafting.  I really need to build up my stock and start on Christmas cards which I really love making.  I have commented sporadically on your posts but will get back into my routine now the warm weather seems to have disappeared.

That's it ladies and gents for tonight may have more for tomorrow.  Can't wait for your honest and welcome comments .

Take care.

Bride and Groom

We are on holiday just now so won't be able to post anything for a couple of weeks.

My niece Megan graduated last Friday after 4 years of blood sweat and tears. She chose Forensic Biology as her subject, why I will never understand as she is a girly girl but she did us proud.  I was so proud as she walked across the stage to receive her diploma and the tears welled up in my eyes, wonderful moment.

My card today is a card requested by a neighbour for her sister who gets married in a couple of weeks.  I feel a white bow may need to be added.

Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles
Glitzy ribbon plaited
Flowers, leaves, pearls and sentiment from stash

Well it is so wonderful to read all your comments, I feel I have so many friends out there.  It is a joy every morning to log on and see all the great creations being posted and when I can fit it in I try to comment but it is not always possible.

Sun shining but we may have a few showers, the forecast is looking great for next week, hope so.

Catch up with you soon.

Fabulous Shoes!!

I sat watching the Fab Sue Wilson on create and Craft Tool Shed, two hours of amazing cards and hints and tips, joy.  Have to sit on my hands today as I have spent too much this month on crafty goodies but next month is not too far away.  Now I am watching the 1700 show, oh I do want to buy more but no be strong.

I just had to purchase the Fabulous Shoes CD to match the Fabulous Fashion CD I bought earlier and here is a card I made last night.

I used an 8 x 8 white card
Backing papers/shoe/sentiment printed from CD
Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles largest and second smallest rectangle used
Ribbon, butterfly, and gems from stash
(not too sure about the ribbon, thought I would use a contrasting colour. What to you think? Maybe green would be better).

I have tried to make some cards to fit into envelopes rather than making boxes, not everyone wants to send boxed cards and this one would be OK.  I have loads more printed off ready to make something with so be prepared for more cards on a similar theme.

My mum is feeling better so I had promised to take her for a break in the caravan so we have two weeks booked.  My sister will pick up my mum after 7 days and take her back to her house till we come home.  That way I get a break from all the little bits involved in taking care of mum.  My two sisters work as Carers and doing personal care comes as second nature to them.  I think my difficulty is that mum lives with me and I feel she gets embarrassed if I have to do her personal care because we are together 24/7. We get there though and I will enjoy my break from her and relax and spend time with hubby and the dogs.

What a day as regards the weather, really hefty showers with some bright intervals and a bit windy, a change from the last couple of weeks.  I had a look at the long range forecast and it look not too bad for the two weeks we are on holiday,  but things can change, for the better I hope.

Take care out there.

Fabulous Fashion

How's this two for the price of one.  I had to try the Fabulous Fashion prints I had already prepared and instead of just doing one I did the two.  The brown mixture card was done first and I had a few obstacles to overcome so the next one was easier.  The shop front cards are lovely but you need to be prepared to do lots of cutting out which is not top of my favourite list.

All the prints were off the CD and the only thing added was some peel offs and acetate for the window.  Easy, two lovely cards.

Another lovely day today, the sun shone, there was a bit of a breeze and it kept the temperature down to a reasonable level.  I am glad that this wonderful weather is staying around.  I think it makes everyone feel better and boosts spirits.

Take care out there.

Hinged Card

Thanks you all for your kind comments on my last card "Connies 5th Birthday".  I had not posted a card for such a long time I did not know how it would be viewed as it was an image I used before.  There were variations on this card and I was pleased how it worked out.  Have not heard from Connie's mum yet, she was to let me know if the card was OK and I would finish it off properly.

Today I had a try with the hinged cards and I feel they would be ideal for making up a set of Christmas cards to put in a box and make up as a set.  Or I can just make a few and add to my box in case a card is required quickly.  They are so cute, I am used to 8 x 8 cards so these look tiny to me  I will get used to them

Digi Image from The Paper Shelter
(pre coloured not confident enough to show my attempts at colouring in yet)
Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles
Kanban Sentiment
Card and Pearls from Stash

The weather has been great over the last week and I have made to most of sitting in the garden enjoying it, walking the dogs when I have been able to drag them out, they hate the warm weather, as a result not much crafting done.

I now feel my Mojo has returned mainly due to all the encouragement I have received from you all and I may get stuck in and make a few projects I have been planning over the last few weeks.  I have seen so many things while browsing all your blogs that my hands just want to try everything.

I forgot to welcome my new followers, so welcome and I hope you enoy my humble attempts at card making etc.

Well that's it for tonight ladies and gents take care and look forward to more gorgeous creations.

Connie's 5th Birthday Card

Today's post is not what I was going to make as I had printed off some Fabulous Fashion prints to make a shopfront card.  Then I remembered I had a card to make for a friends daughter, Connie, who will be 5 year old soon.  I love this image from The Paper Shelter and it looks so like Connie as you can see from her photo.  I have passed this card to her mum for approval and given her some verses to choose in care she does not like the one I have put on the card.

Connie ready for dance class. Just look at her curls

Front of Card

Card with drop down when held by Ribbon

Reverse of card with verse

The card is an 8 x 8 white card blank
The background and digi stamp is a download from The Paper Shelter
Name was created with Docrafts Digital Designer software as was green spotty paper
Sentiment and verse from my collection
Pearls and ribbon from stash.

I used an 8 x 8 card with fold at bottom so the age 5 page will drop down when held by the ribbon.
Sorry pictures are not up to much but I have not mastered quite how to make them lovely.  I thought Connie would like to use card as wall hanging after her birthday is over, hence the ribbon at the top.

Connie is such a sweet little girl that I thought she deserved something different and this is what I came up with.  Now I eagerly await your comments, just wish I had photographed them better.

What a lovely day we are having, sat out in the sun for a while this morning and read the Sunday Papers, took the dogs for a walk, they were reluctant as they don't like it warm and as I have the dinner prepared I will have another relax in the sun.

Take care you lovely crafters, will get round more posts after dinner as there are loads of wonderful
designs out there.

Work in Progress

Sorry girls no card yet.   Have completed the Ruby Wedding Anniversary Card but have not shown it as I have shown one exactly the same before, it has a few variations but not enough to make it look different.

I have recently bought Fabulous Fashion CD ROM and have been printing off some paper to make the shopfront card, and a few templates for gift bags which I am going to try as my design inspiration has flown the coup.   It is horrid when you want to try something but just cannot put paper together to make it.  I keep choosing card, paper. dies, embossing folders etc but just cannot get them to pull together.  Been away too long but I will get there.  Here are my prints ready to use.

I have been browsing your wonderful posts and have a feeling that I may pull a few ideas from your beautiful cards, hope you don't mind.

We are all on the mend here.  Hubby's man flu is nearly gone, mother is not feeling as light headed and is able to take over more of her personal care and I am me just get on with it regardless.  The dogs had a haircut on Sunday and boy are they looking good.  After a short back and sides they tend to run around more and I can get them to go for a walk without having to drag them.  If they don't want to go for a walk, Shaolin especially, puts on the brakes and hides under the table where I cannot reach him, them Mei Li follows suit and I have a fight on my hands.  They don't like the warm weather so now it has cooled down, it is agreeing with them.

Maybe tomorrow after I have made a few cards with the papers I have printed off my Mojo will return and I will have something to show.

Take care girls and "Carry on Crafting".

Slowly does it!

Well it has been weeks since my last post but I am slowly getting back to normal.  Mum is better but still suffering light headiness and is working on getting her confidence back.  At 87 years of age she is doing not too badly.  She lives with me which can be good or bad, good because I was able to assist her over the last few weeks while she was ill and bad because we can get on one another's nerves.  That's just how it is for now.

I had infected sinus problems but that has cleared and hubby came down with a stinking cold so it has cough, sneeze, moan and groan for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully that is the end of it for now I want to get my life back.

The floors are laid and the rooms are nearly back to normal, the main bedroom is lovely, newly decorated with new floor, wardrobe doors, facing and skirting. New curtains, rug and bedding to set it off, looking good, just a few finishing touches and that will be that.  The other bedroom, well, let us just say it is getting there.  Still have to arrange some crafty things and finish labelling boxes then it will be down to some serious crafting, I have missed it so much.

My neighbour asked if I could rustle up a card for new born twin boys.  So I had a rummage and found a Kanban kit I bought a while back and it had a twin section which I was able to utilise.  Not much actual crafting in this one, more choosing papers and using some dies.  Something easy to break me in again.

Sorry the photo is very light we had brilliant sunshine for a change
As I said previously it was from a Kanban kit and Spellbinder Grand Dies

Well hopefully that is the end of my doldrums and I really have to get crafting as I have been asked to make a Girl 1st Birthday card for Wednesday, wheweeeee.  Also a Ruby wedding card (the same as one I made previously) for next Sunday, an 18th Birthday card for a girl for 20th July, a 5th Birthday card for a girl for 20th July and a Wedding card for 21 July.  So guess who better get her Mojo back quickly and get her finger out.  Luckily the girl who has ordered the last 4 cards has had a look at ones I have previously made and came with her order, nice one, don't have to do much thinking.

The "Turkish Delights" (namely Patricia and Hazel) should be back from the sunshine and no doubt we will hear from them in due course. Looking forward to hearing about all they got up to or not if they just chilled out.

That's it for now ladies take care and I hope to be back soon.

What a lot going on!!!!

Ok I know I have been absent for a while but I have tried to keep up with all your Blogs.  I have not commented all the time but I have been viewing them.

My floor laying turned into a marathon, hubby decided as well as laying the wooden floor we needed to renew the skirting, wardrobe doors and facings.  Then I decided to decorate the room myself, no need to spend more money. Ah never again. I am not as young as I used to be and going up and down ladders sure made me feel my age.  Next time no volunteering, get someone in.  One room down, one to go.

This was only getting the wooden floor laid but it was hard work moving things from one room to the other then back again especially all my crafting material which I tried unsuccessfully to disguise from hubby, better he did not know how much "stuff" I had.

Last Friday my mum took ill during the night, I had to telephone for an ambulance at 0430 as I could not get sense out of her and she was a dead weight lying over the bed. The paramedics were great as was the A&E especially at that time in the morning.  She was admitted and lots of tests carried out and its inner ear problems, a big name shortened to BPPV Vertigo.  Pretty frightening experience for her and me but she is home now but has lost a lot of confidence and needs more personal care help.

I am desperately trying to get my spare bedroom/craft-room sorted out so I can get back to making cards. Today the sun shone and it was lovely sitting out so not a lot done inside, tomorrow is another day.

I must welcome Hazel http://hazelsbasketsofjoy.blogspot.co.uk/ to Blogland, it has taken her a while and she it not up to par yet but great to see her onboard. She is the sister of Patricia http://patricia-summerhousecrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ who a lot of you will know. Hazel makes wonderful gift baskets which I think will be popular once she can post her photos.

Hopefully after tomorrow I will be in a position to show a card made by my delicate hands, not promising but the thought is there.  I am really missing my "playtime" and need my crafting fix.

Thought I should let you know why I was miss in action as I worry if I don't see a post from one of my blog friends.  I am well just fed up with all the upheaval but we are getting there.

Take care my friends.

A Teenage Birthday Card

Oh my what have I got us into, I only wanted wooden flooring laid in my spare bedroom and it has turned into a marathon.  My hubby decided while my nephew was laying the floor we could do with new wardrobe doors and as the facing had to come off we could do with new skirting boards as well.  So a small job has turned into to major reconstruction as redecoration is required too.  Hopefully it will soon be over, hubby is as we speak painting the woodwork so I will be able to get the room set up over the next few days.  As this room was the spare bedroom and my craft room there was loads to things the be moved around and the other two bedrooms are jam packed with things.  We have decided to turn this newly decorated room in our new bedroom, as it is looking so pretty and get the other bedroom laid with wooden flooring as well.  Oh to get things back to normal, at least when this is complete there is no more reconstruction to do, it has all been done.

This card is one I made for a fifteen year old girl, I was stumped until I had a look at the Paper Shelter site and found a gorgeous topper and as it was a quick card I used the pre-coloured image and will attempt to colour the digi image at a later date.

Sorry the photo is not very good as I am a bit limited with access to my computer just now with all that is taking place.

I used an 8x8 card
Blue card as a background and layered some blue spotty card
The image is downloaded from The Paper Shelter (there was only one girl but I flipped another image and made it a bit smaller to get two girls dancing.)
Sentiment from Kanban

Well back to the grind, not much crafting taking place this weekend, more sanding down, sweeping up and painting.  I have a couple of commissions for later this week so will really have to get down to it soon.

Welcome to my new followers, its great to have you on board.

Take care.

CAS Cards

Well I have tried something new for me, CAS cards.  Now when I first began blogging I have no idea what all the abbreviations stood for and had to ask, I still have to think and ask now and them even now.

I though why not try something simple and boy did it take an age before I came up with a card idea.  I think it is more difficult to do a little on a card rather than lots.  I feel more at ease die cutting and layering. but here is my effort. I made three just to be sure

Ingredients

DL white card
Ribbon from Hobbycraft
Butterfly die free from a magazine
Sentiment stamp circle from LOTV
Happy Birthday stamp from Clarity stamps
Pearls and love from stash

This may be a good starter card for the first class if it comes off in the Autumn.  I must thank you all for the feedback to my request for some ideas if I do take it up, they have been most helpful.  I still have to get in touch with Mary who apparently lives near me to meet up for a coffee/tea soon to get some advice from her.  You will get an email soon Mary.

Stamping direct on to a card scares me, but I have to think it is only a piece of card and if you fluff it you can always make another.  I really must practise stamping, I take the lazy way out and use digi stamps where possible.  I have download a few now and must make a card with them.  Previously I have used the pre-coloured images because I am still trying out the colouring in, not confident with that either.  Note to self, you will not gt anywhere sitting looking at the images, get colouring them and use your stamps.

Our weather today has not warmed up yet, it is forecast for sunshine tomorrow, don't hold your breath, but hope it does we Scots need some sun.  I saw on a blog that someone had 24 degrees in a sheltered spot, 14 would do me.

I hope you all are enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend, for me being retired every weekend can be a Bank Holiday, footloose and fancy free, there are not weekends jut one long holiday.  I never thought I would enjoy being retired because I loved working but because I suffered Work Related Stress one and half years before I retired I was very glad when retirement came around. Now I don't have enough hours in the day for all I want to do.

I may be absent for a week or so, we are laying two bedroom floors with wood and generally doing the up so my computer may be out of action.  I will still have my IPad but prefer typing on a keyboard.  I laugh at the younger generation using their thumbs to type, I was taught the touch typing way and when I use my phone to text my speeds drop dramatically.  My niece can type a text message in a few seconds but I am way behind.  But put her at a keyboard and I beat her hands down.

Only leaves me to say enjoy your holiday weekend and crafting if you can fit it in.

Take care out there.
